|Bio and Links|
|I live in Warrenton, VA. I am a scientist by training. Currently I teach college Biology. I also have a keen interest in history and a keen interest in finding the true relationships of my kin here on this website and being accurate. Thus far I have only posted mainly memorials for people to whom I am related and to whom there is living memory as to relationships, or ancestors for whom I have definitive records, but who didn't have a page here. I added the latter in hopes that pictures of their graves could be made and posted here.|
If I ever do initiate memorials for non-relatives, I will be happy to transfer stewardship of those memorials to any of their kin who wish to take them over and manage them.
I am truly grateful to all those people on this website who have spent so much time posting pictures of the final resting places of my far flung ancestors that would have remained unknown to me except for their efforts. THANK YOU.

|Stephen McLeod||RE: Meredith & Payne graves in Warrenton|
I am a genealogist and I am helping a good friend document his ancestry for a lineage society. He is a direct descendant of this family -- specifically, he descends from John Taylor Meredith and his wife Elizabeth Hooe Winter Payne, through their daughter Elizabeth Daniel Meredith, who married her cousin Robert Howson Hooe, and is buried in the Manassas Cemetery.
We appreciate any assistance you can provide. Most sincerely, Stephen McLeod
|Karyn Buckner Garvin||RE: James Davis - more|
I looked up his death certificate on Ancestry.com and it lists his parents as Warren Ross & Rebecca Reide Davis. He was listed as a widower, and died in Richland County, SC at the state hospital in Columbia.
Hope this helps - I see you live out of town. You can either get the library to pull the obit for a fee, or I can add it to my list and get it for free the next time I make it to the library, which will probably be next month.
|Karyn Buckner Garvin||RE: James Davis|
Hi, I don't have his obituary, just the index from the Greenville News that the Greenville library has on their website. This allows anyone who wants to get the obit an easier way of doing so, as it identifies the publication date to search the newspaper on their microfilm; you can then either print or save it to a jump drive there.
If you get the obit I'll be glad to transcribe it to the bio section, omitting the names of living survivors, if any are still living.

You are welcome. Let me know if I can help you with anything. Wimsang

I am not related to this family,but thanks for sending the info. If you want this document added to the memorial you can do so by adding it the same way you do a picture. Again,Thanks,Wimsang

My pleasure to transfer him to you. I do not know anything about his wife; I just find obits and make memorials if there isn't one. Since I live in Chicago and work from old obits, I dont have a photo-maybe if you request one someone will fulfill it.
If you'll send me his wife's name and DOD I'll see if there's an obit for her. I can also give you the link to the obit index to look up other names. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
|Lydia Wood James||Goolsby Sisters|
It's good to hear from you again. I am more than willing for you to manage the listings of the three Goolsby sisters. I have transferred them over to you, along with the listings of Lynn Goolsby's husband and son. I also linked the Goolsby sisters to their parents, being careful to link them to the correct mothers.
Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
