Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have a great interest in genealogy as my ancestors have been in Centre County PA since the late 1700's. On my fathers side my ancestors moved to Centre County from Baltimore where my 5th GGF was born in 1709. On my mothers side of the family, in the early 1800's our family started the first tannery in Philipsburg and in the mid 1800's founded The Daily Journal, a local news paper.

Harry M Holter Memorial# 113002568

Wondering what the source of the death date is and whether it might not be 1888? I have birth/baptism information for a Harry Miles Holter, son of Constans C and Mattie Holter, from Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellefonte. Birth: 21Mar1887
Bapt: 4Jun1887

Struck me that a 3 can look like an 8, depending on what the media is.

Thank you for the information, I live on the west coast, but have many relatives in the area of Clearfield. There is also a Clearfield Historical Center. It has a few Historians available to help research family members, but it is only open on Sunday and Thursdays.
Thank you

RE: Death record
Yes it actually does help, that you have committed yourself to research, is an admiral ambition. You say you have marriage records dating back to the 1700's, I have been looking for many marriage certificates for my tree and am having problems finding them, most that I have found are on, but still am looking for many more, in the Karthus,
Clearfield, Pa area. Good luck with your research.
Best Regards

Thanks so very much for taking and posting the photos of the Riddle headstones. I greatly appreciate your time and dedication to helping others who cannot make the trip to the area.
