You're welcome - I am glad the memorial helped!!!
It is a wonder that there are any photos or memorials from that cemetery. You see, it was notorious as being ALWAYS locked on the chain link fence, and it is not easy to find, etc. I knew this when I went looking for it originally. However, when I got there, I managed to find a second entrance to the cemetery - AND THE LOCK WAS OPEN!!! Needless to say, I spent the next 3 1/2 hours or so meticulously photographing every single stone in the ENTIRE place. Not so easy, since it had rained at least 2 weeks before that, so MANY of the stones were covered with mud and leaves. I just inched along, and when I thought there should be a stone there, I would kick and brush away stuff until I either saw a stone or didn't.
I don't know if this will help you, but here is an online "book" about the cemetery that the Saratoga IOOF did a few years back. I am intending to contact the writer as I have taken photos of stones that they didn't think existed. In fact, they didn't even know the cemetery existed until super, super recently! So crazy. Here is the book: http://www.scchgs.org/saratogaioof/IOOFCemeteryReport.pdf . I am going to give this link to the guy from the newspaper as well, in case it helps him with Mr. Thornton.

Thank you SO MUCH for the extra info on Mr. Thornton! I have added it now to the memorial. It is all so very interesting! I am sorry that it took a while - I have had no internet connection at home since January 1st.

I am a photographer with the San Luis Obispo Tribune and write a history column. I am working on a biography of O.F. Thornton. He was the 4th editor of the paper and came to San Luis Obispo 1875-80 after leaving Alpine county. Do you have any biographical information from his Alpine Co. mining days or earlier? Saw your comment on the Find a Grave website and would also like to find a photograph of him for the biography. He is turning out to be an interesting biography.
