RE: Michael A Johns
Eleanor, I'm sorry, I don't. I don't have a copy of his obit, which would likely say something. I don't even know where he's buried.

Rebecca Hiers Johns
Dear Eleanor,
Thank you for your input on Rebecca Hiers Johns page. If you are related, we would love to hear from you! Rebecca is my husband John's great-great-great grandmother.

I hate to be contrary, but Rebecca did in fact die in 1883, not 1888. We have a death notice to back that up.

"Marriage and Death Notices from Baptist Newspapers of South Carolina, 1866-1887
The Working Christian
Issue of July 12, 1883
page 121

'Died, May 3rd, 1883, Mrs. Rebecca Johns, wife of Isaac Johns, Colleton County, S. C.

Sister Johns was about 71 years old... member of Little Salkehatchie Baptist Church.' "

I was the one to take the photos in the Johns-Richardson cemetery, and believe me we were very careful to record every date accurately. Besides photos, we took detailed transcriptions as well.

Isaac & Rebecca are near and dear to our hearts, and I would never just haphazardly add info for them.

If you would like to discuss the Johns family in more detail, I would love to hear from you.

Lydia James
(Wife of William Johns "John" James Jr.)
