No, they were not related. Mary's paternal grandparents were William and Jennetta Hester White of Georgia and Tennessee respectively. They lived for a while in Columbia Co., AR, before moving on to Louisiana where William died. Jennetta came to Hopkins Co., TX, with some of her children. Mary's maternal grandparents were Robert and Mary Mann White of Tennessee and South Carolina. They came from Jefferson Co., TN, to Benton Co., AR, where Robert, Mary, and 5 of the children died between 1860-1865, some from illness and some from violence. The remaining family came to the Hill Co., TX, area.

Hi Karen, We checked at the Peshtigo Fire Cemetery yesterday, during their cemetery walk. According to their map of the cemetery and the list of persons buried there, we could find no record of Eva DeVoll's burial. We did find a record of John Wesley Herrick, Memorial # 87089333, which includes a photo of his headstone. PLease let me know if there is anything else we can check out.

The cemetery will open again when the museum opens on Memorial Day. Will check to see if I can find it at that time.
