I have become a big genealogist ever since my maternal uncle passed away and then my father. My brother is looking up my father's side and I am looking up my mother's side.Genealogy is so important so ask your elderly family members for names and stories!|
The family names that I am interested in are...
FLEWELLING,(Michigan and Ontario,Canada) MERRITT,(Ontario, Canada) BISSELL, LANDIS, MIDDLETON (Vermont/New Hampshire Massachusetts, New York) BISSELL/MICHIGAN,NEW YORK), MCKEEVER (of Massacusetts and VERMONT)
I am looking for the grave of DANIEL VOLTAIRE BISSELL in northern Oakland County,Michigan. If anyone has any ideas on how I can find it, please email me! I believe he is buried on his property in northern Oakland County)
I am interested in Genesee County and Oakland County lookups etc. (MICHIGAN) and also NEW JERSEY (LANDIS)and MASSACHUSETTS, VERMONT (MIDDLETON, MCKEEVER)

I do not look up memorial numbers. If you would like your grandmother transferred to your care please provide the memorial number. Thanks

According to a 1935 map of Aventine Cem., Flewellings owned three separate lots in Section 1. Charles Flewelling owned lot 23, H. Flewelling owned lot 108, and John Flewelling owned lot 258. This is who bought the lots, not who is buried there. And any of these lots could have been sold after this map was done. All three lots are between Geneseret St. & the lane down the middle of the cemetery, with lot 23 farthest from Chavez Dr.

I added another photo of this gravestone at Crooks Cemetery. To have the name of Bissell added you must ask the person who created the memorial. I will look again for Henry Hobarts gravestone.

|Jayne||RE: James Flewelling|
Hi there. In 2008 I did a photo survey of Aventine Cemetery and took pix of every stone I could find. If James & Eleanor do not have a pic on their pages, I did not find a stone for them. I have looked on the lot owners map and see lots owned by Charles D., A., & John Flewelling. All three are in Sec. 1. James & Eleanor may be located in one of these as they had a son John. If you have their specific lot #, I can tell you where they are in the cemetery, but their stone may be sunken or vandalized. Since no one is "in charge" of this cemetery, you may have to hire someone to look for the stone, or buy a replacement stone. Check with Avondale Cemetery next to Aventine and see who they would recommend for this. If I can be of further assistance, please contact me. Thank you for your interest.

the tall pointy one that has the cross and says Landis in script?? is that the one you are talking about? that is no one's grave but marks the Landis Family site at the cemetery...
|Rick Sturgis||Harriet and Earl Williams|
There is no Harriet and Earl Williams in Evergreen Cemetery. I did a search on Find a Grave and found them in Aventine Cemetery. Harriet's maiden name is Landis and I saw that name in a memorial page where you had added a photo.
Hi there. Thank you for contacting me. I did not know anything about the James Flewelling you asked about, but found a birth record for James E. Flewelling born 8/20/1875 in Flint, MI. Also found marriage record for Edward Flewelling to Elizabeth R. Sanborn on 12/5/1896 in Genesee Co., MI. James was James Edward Flewelling, son of James & Eleanor Emeline (Merritt) Flewelling. I suppose he went by Edward to differeniate himself from his dad. James & Elizabeth are buried in Gracelawn Cemetery in Flint, MI and are already on Find A Grave.
