|I have worked on my Family Genealogy for about 25 years and have been to many many cemeteries through the years. My Mother and I put out flowers on many graves and liked to remember those that had "gone to Glory". Now that she is gone, I've taken it upon myself to follow in her footsteps by keeping the memories of our loved ones alive. I grew up in Tyler, TX and now live in Rockwall, TX. I will try to start taking pictures of the graves that I go to and add to this site. |
I am not at all interested in numbers or seeing if I can get more graves than someone else - that is ridiculous! How could anyone do this to be competitive?
I am really only interested in my relatives, friends, and classmates, and their family connections - not just to reach a high number of graves.
If I make a suggestion or ask for a transfer it is someone I am connected to or related to and want to add information or correct information. I will do the same for you. Thank you for your help.

Thank you Gail for all the work you have done on my family's cemetery markers information.
I will find the time soon to finish them.

Hello Gail McKinzie Clark,
I have found your posting of Roderick McKenzie B.1761 D. 1835, Sevier Co. Tn.
My story of how I found this is very long, I will make it as bfief as possible.
My ggg grandfather is this Roderick McKenzie.
I now live in Sevierville, Tn.
It seems I just fell into this information you have posted .
The Cemetery listings for Fork of the Little Pigeon River Baptist Church. Doesn't have Roderick McKenzie as being buried there.
That doesn't mean he's not buried in it.
The Church First Baptist Church of Sevierville now covers a few acres.
I have talked to the gentleman who has written two books my wife has about the cemetery.
Also my son in law's brother is head of maintenance came over tonight and I gave him a copy of your posting.
He is going to research it and see if he can find any records of Roderick being buried there.
Find A Grave list 32 burials of 4 unknowns, perhaps one of these could be Roderick.
My question is where did the information about Roderick came from.
If I can find his Grave I would like to post this information on it.
I have a Pedigree for Roderick McKenzie, perhaps your line may be in there, will share this if you like?

Not by blood but as a teen I felt like she was a soul sister whenever I listened to "Down on Me". I was happy to see not just fans posting today. That's why I sent you the message. Thanks for replying!

Just to say I was happy to see a relative posting tokens and prayers for Janis today. God bless.

Gail, You suggested that I get "Taming Texas". I did and it is very interesting. I was raised in Crockett and didn't know that all those things went on in Houston County. Thanks
