RE: Grice, Roberts, Howard
My email is
I don't know anymore about them. My mom doesn't remember anything about her Uncle Fred Robert's family. She never really met any of them.
I got his parents names from his death certificate.
I am sure Simon has/had a marker, but it is either too difficult to read, or it was damaged. The cemetery is very old and many of the graves are unmarked or have unreadable markers. The next time I am in that area, I will stop and take another look. The last time I was there, there were a couple of very scary "locals" who were not very nice to me. I haven't been back since. It is located on the corner of a dirt road where some country folks live. There is not much else around, so I don't feel very safe there after the last visit.

RE: Thanks
You are welcome. FYI..I noticed that you have connections to both my mother's family and my Father's family. Sarah Grice Roberts was the mother of Rev. Fred Roberts, who was my mom's uncle. Fred married her aunt Nora Ross. Mom was very close with the Roberts growing up.
Also, your great grandparents Simon and Nancy Howard were the parents of Minor Howard, who married Vera Stevens. Vera was the niece of my gg grandfather on my dad's side.
I have been to Flat Rock cemetery a few times and I was never able to find a marker for Simon. There are quite a few very old, unreadable markers there as well as unmarked graves.

Emily Caton
Hi, Nancy: I received your suggestion re the Emily Caton memorial, but I think you meant it to be for the Noah Lafayette Caton memorial. I linked Noah to his mother -- I just missed doing that earlier, so thanks for the note!

You are welcome for the picture. I used shaving cream, but I rinsed it off after the picture was taken. The marker is very worn.
