Bio and Links
Bio Photo Howdy neighbors, my name is "J.R." Richardson. In my younger years I was always too busy having fun and working to pay attention to, or ask questions about my ancestors. Now in my older years, after it's too late to ask those questions, I find myself desperately wanting to know more about my past ancestry. And also to pass on this information to my Kids,GrandKids and Great GrandKids,so they will not have to wonder who their ancestors were, how they lived and where they came from .

I live in the "Entertainment Capitol" : LAS VEGAS,Nevada. I enjoy Genealogy which is what led me to this site. Actually, one day while doing some research on my Uncle Marvin (My Father's Oldest Brother)on an ancestry site, there was his name as a link at the bottom of the page so I clicked on it,it went to Google and his name was there as one of the listings that said,"Find A" with it,so I clicked on it and the rest is history. I think this is a great place to honor and remember our loved ones. And to share geneaology information.

Note: RALPH WALDO EMERSON is one of My Distant Relatives

I wish to express my gratitude to all those very kind and genealogy conscious people who add the links and make the changes I have suggested.

Maiden names for the women is especially important and will aid all future researchers. Family names for the women often get lost when they marry. Listing 1st and 2nd husbands also is very important.

My goal is to link all family members together: parents, spouses and children. This will enable any and all researchers to find family members and complete their research for all generations. Future generations will then be able to connect with their past.

Due to many conflicts of interest from family members, we will no longer accept information from a F.A.G. VISITOR.

You're free to download my photos for personal use, but if you publish them in a book or use them online, please credit me ("J.R." Richardson,Find A Grave #47748796) and let me know so I can maintain braggin' rights. Thanks

FYI - I do have headstone photos for most of my listings. I am behind in adding them to the memorials. If I do not have a photo posted yet or a correction needs to be made, please "Leave a Message" for me below and I will do my best to correct it.

A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum. I stopped at a cemetery and my life has never been the same. Someone, long ago, predicted my fascination about burial plots. It seems on the day I was born, my parents looked gravely at me. The doctor picked me up by the heels and slapped my mother and made her cry. Life started out not quite right! Thus I went to cemeteries and became a grave whisperer.

I volunteer for Find A Grave to honor our past and to breathe life into the memories of our ancestors. I volunteer to ensure that your relatives and mine are not forgotten.

"Find A Grave's mission is to transcribe cemetery information from around the world and to present this information as a virtual cemetery experience.
Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should at the least fulfill the mission *** registration of the final resting place. If a memorial contribution corresponds with only the main mission, the memorial has fulfilled its part of Find A Grave's mission.
Find A Grave memorials may contain rich content including photographs, biographies, and date information. Members can leave remembrances via ‘virtual flowers' on the memorials they visit, completing the virtual cemetery experience.
Find A Grave is a resource for anyone interested in finding the final resting place of family, friends, and ‘famous' individuals"

Transfer requests must follow Find A Grave guidelines. Be specific on your relationship. I will make corrections, additions, & family links when asked. Use the Edit tab, then the Suggest A Correction (SAC) option & include your email address.
I submit obituaries (without living relatives as per "Find A Grave Guidelines",unless given special permission to do so,by person who wrote obituary)to this site as a hobby and enjoy reading the many obituaries. I do not intentionally duplicate anyones entry, so if that does happen, please let me know and I will delete it, only if theirs has a lower memorial # than mine. If I have added any, and someone wants me to transfer to them, I will be more than happy to do so (as per Find A Grave Guidelines),as long as that person is not related to me. It's not about who has the most entries(Memorials).

I do respect all contributors of FAG and expect the same from them.

Use of my photos for non-profit purposes only. is NOT non-profit!!

SAC George Loyal Wright
Hello JR,
I have submitted a correction for my father George Loyal Wright's death year. It was listed as 1990, but it is supposed to be 1999. I also added the location of his birth & death. I do have all of the historical records to verify both. I don't know too much about what it means to transfer his page to me. Please contact me:
Thank you for your work with :)

This is Heather Gately, Meaghan Gately's sister-in-law. I just found out that her headstone was placed two days ago. Is there anyway you can go and take a picture of her headstone for us? We live in Mesquite but won't be down there for a few days and we would really like to see how it turned out. If this is too much to ask I understand. Thanks for your time.

Did I ever get back to you regarding those round clumps of cement with initials scratched in them in the Mt Moriah Cemetery. After talking to the gentleman who takes care of the books, he said those folks are still living and they marked the spot where their grave sites are. So no excitement in those finds. I went to his house with copies of the photos so he knows what I was talking about. We had a good chuckle. Linda

RE Mt Moriah Cemetery
I thought I had uncovered something real important but it turns out that wasn't true. This afternoon I went to the man who has the cemetery records and he said they were new. New meaning that the folks are still alive and were markers that they put in to mark their plots for later use. Some put markers and some did not. Some were covered with grass but now they are not. He indicated that the cemetery with the grave stones is the old one and the new one is the one with the more recent burials and those cement blobs with their initials they put on themselves was the new one. Go figure. Makes sense to me. I checked his grave book and the Sturdevants were not in it. Does not mean they are not here just they don't have a stone. Linda
