|I found this site when I googled my father's name and was pleasantly surprised to find this avenue for locating my ancestors and connecting to other branches of the family tree.|
I'm a novice at geneology but have been curious about my father's stories of his grandfather who was supposedly full-blood american indian. What I don't know is what nation, that's what I am here to discover if possible.
On my initial visit I learned my grandfather's parents were Virgil William and Lula Higgins. Any information available about their families would be appreciated.

Hi, but can you let me know which cemetery they are buried in? Thanks, June

I'm sorry, I don't know anything about him.
|Wendy Scharf - Tucker||Remember me from childhood?|
Hi my name is Wendy Scharf - Tucker. I spent the first 10 years of my life living in Dallas Tx. My family moved to Maryland in 1974. I lived at the corner of Bluffcreek and Mossglen Dr and was very good childhood friends with 3 girls that lived diagnally acrossed from me on Bluffcreek. Their names were Susie (oldest), Margie (middle) and the youngest was Lois. I have looked for them for many years online, just to reconnect and say hi. My latest search lead me to this site and your member account. I have so many fond memories, I hope have found the right Susie Higgins! If so, please email me at email@example.com or look me up on facebook under Wendy Scharf Tucker.

Hi Cousin Susie,
Sorry not to reply more quickly. I was out of town most of the weekend.
I don't have much direct personal knowledge of our Watson relations. My grandfather's mom died of his birth, and his dad died when grandpa was only a young child. Grandpa was said to have gone off to seek his fortune when only a teenager.
That said, I do have an accumulation of data about the families. You can find much of my data on-line, in a rootweb database derived from my local genealogy database:
I show six generations of earlier ancestors, though much of what I have came from work done by others, including my late parents, with insufficient recording of source documents. That make it a bit iffier, and harder to confirm than I'd like.
I show that your great uncle Ray had two children, Sheila and Gerald. The latter died in 1979 in an auto accident in Sacramento at age 26.
Much of what I have on your branch of the family came from Marla Tobler, who appears to be your aunt! I last exchanged messages with her in 2007. I can send along the last email address I have for her, if you're not already in touch with her. I'd bet that she'd be a better source for stories and other living information on your kin than I would be.
Very best regards,
Your cousin William
|Richard Hollis||RE: Dement|
thanks for writing, Dement isn't an ancestral name for me, but both my maternal and paternal line has Collin County roots, so still working out the possibility of connection in some form or fashion. I inherited a bunch of Will and Shelly's entries when life moved on for them (kids and other responsibilities, which is totally understandable) and will happily update, correct and connect any of the entries that I maintain.
|William Watson||By the way, we're cousins...|
I forgot to mention that we're related. Your father was my 3rd cousin. He and I had the same great-great-grandparents, Thomas Townsend Watson and Sabra Jane Bennett.
Very best regards,
|William Watson||Re: Corp James Leslie Higgins|
Thanks for sending along the bio. I've added it to James's memorial page. It sounds like you may be his daughter. I'd be happy to transfer management of his memorial to you. Just let me know.
Thanks again and very best regards,
