Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love to do genealogical research & photography, so becoming a volunteer photographer here was a natural choice. My own family names include Urquhart, Howland/Tilley, Alden/Mullens, Post, Collins, Whitney, etc.

**For those with Island ancestors or relatives, I recommend: as well as the "Martha's Vineyard Antique Photos" Facebook page, and the M.V. Museum and the M.V. Historical Society** Another one is the "Martha's Vineyard Antique Photos" page on Facebook which posts wonderful photos!

If I create a memorial for your ancestor and you'd like it transferred to you, (and it isn't one of my ancestors) I am generally happy to oblige. However, if I email you extra photos and you upload them to new or existing memorials, please note that I'm the photographer.

I am so grateful to others who have created memorials for my family, taken photos, etc.

P.S. I recommend this online date calculator tool:
If you have the date of death and the yr./mo./days of age, you can easily calculate the birth date.

RE: Gen. Asa Bacon Carey
They were all living together in Memphis, TN in 1910; M L Walker, Edith C Walker, A B Carey and Laura M Carey.

Asa Bacon Carey died 4 Apr 1912 in Orlando, FL.

Laura M Colby is back in Tisbury, MA in 1920

I would assume they brought A B Carey to Tisbury and buried him with the rest of the family.

RE: Edith Colby Carey Walker
Bio looks great. Do you happen to know where her father Asa Bacon Carey might be buried?

Photo you Requested
Hi Sunset,
I am trying to get you a photo in the Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston for the following people:

Isabella Bigelow

I contacted the cemetery for the plot locations but the cemetery will only allow me to take a picture if you email them directly, and ONLY if you are the lot owner. They are very strict.

Please contact Forest Hills Cemetery if you are interested. The contact will be: Marianne Bayard (

I would appreciate you letting me know if this won't work out so I can unclaim these photo requests and report a problem on the website. Thank you!

Memorial# 11435695
My name is Kat and I have been putting together a genealogy for my motherís ancestors. I have interspersed various photographs within the text to accent interesting facts about some ancestors. I plan to publish and print hard copy books for my immediate family and their children. I have included the following photo, Capt. George Denison Memorial# 11435695, that you posted and I donít want to use it in my book without your explicit permission. I will include your credit with the photograph and Find A Grave in the citations.

Last week a friend of mine who works in the printing industry approached me with an offer to print and bind my book at no charge if I allow the printer to use the content in a sample print run of approximately 100 books. They would not be sold but instead would be distributed to demonstrate digital ink jet technology. I would like to accept this offer, however, I cannot do so without gaining your permission to use your posted photograph.

Would you please grant me permission to use your posted photograph, listed above, in my book.

Thank you for your consideration, please respond at your earliest opportunity.

RE: John B. Collins
I will add a GPS next time I am there. If you use the FindAGrave app, you can pinpoint it on that.

RE: John B. Collins
Feel free to use any photos I have posted, thanks for asking.
Would a GPS location help you out in finding the plot? The plot is at the intersection of Chapel and Union (upper right if you look at the map), but that doesn't help much. The gates are open on Sundays.
Do you have a date for John Collins? I see a Capt John Collins in Evergreen, d 1858.

Scotts at Evergreen Cemetery
I did what could to locate the graves for you. I had to estimate the locations myself. as I was unable to get to the cemetery all week until today and they had no one to help me as they were very busy. Hope the Scott family reunion foes well. Take care.

RE: George Scott
You're very welcome. The photos on each of the George Scott memorials show the rest of the Map 4 area.

RE: John Henry Scott & Lula F. Scott - Evergreen
I might be able to go there Saturday morning. I'll have to bring a bag of candy for the office candy dish. No charge.
