Evelyn Spaulding
Hi,

Just wanted to let you know that Evelyn Spaulding's maiden name is Minemier, and I'm hoping that maybe you could add this info to her page.

Thanks!

George Carlisle
I want to give you special thanks for marking a "unmarked" gravesite for George. That was such a wonderful idea.

This was an extra effort that you did and it is greatly appreciated. I hope that perhaps some great-grandchildren of George's will find this memorial someday.

May you have a safe summer.

RE: Caroline Rowley
Hi Deborah,
Thank you for all your detective work!

Alonzo (Lonso) Rowley died at The Great Northern Hotel of asphyxiation (sp?). They still had gas lamps in the hotel rooms. He was a painter and I think he was working at the Palmer House. I fear that he died with very little money and I would bet that he is probably buried in an unmarked grave. I hope not, but I don't know how they were able to afford moving him from Chicago to Berrien Co. and then the headstone expense.

How interesting that Caroline died on your street! If only those walls could talk...

Thank you for your help. I am so appreciative of the time you have spent on this. I would really love to find these folks!

RE: Caroline Rowley
Hi Deborah,
Wow! Thank you so much for this help!

Yes, I have some data on her children (in addition to Warren J and William Rennie):

-Alonzo Allen Rowley (aka L.A. Rowley, Lonzo or Lonso Rowley) b. 1850 Chicago d. 19 Nov 1899 Chicago (death certificate says he was to be buried in Michigan) He lived many years in Berrien Co. I'm unable to find any information on where he was buried.

-Caroline Amelia Rowley (m. Cyrus Burtch) b. 1856 Chicago d. after 1910 probably in Kent, MI

-Albert Wisner Rowley (wife Mary and daughter Libby are the ones you found)

-Jessie Mercy Rowley (daughter) b. 1860

-Thomas Edward Rowley b1862 d.1933 (Kent, MI?)

-Hattie Belle Rowley (m. Cyrus Kenney) b 1864 MI d 23 Sep 1938 Kalamazoo, MI (death record states she was buried in Allegan, MI)

Nellie Grace Rowley b.1867 MI
__________________________________________

Caroline Arnell Rowley (the mother of the above children) was in Grand Rapids (220 North Ave.) in the 1895 city directory (I just found that this morning on Ancestry!) She is my 3x great grandmother.

Thank you so much for your help. If there is any way to find Caroline or Alonzo (my 2x great grandfather) I would be thrilled.

If I can give you any other info, please let me know.
Thanks, again!

Caroline Rowley
Hello,
Thank you so much for checking for Caroline Rowley in Morton Cemetery. Here is a little more information: Caroline Arnell Rowley, born 6 May 1825 in NY, died 25 May 1898 in Berrien Springs, MI. (Husband: Aaron Drew Rowley; Father: John Arnell).

Her name appeared in a Morton Cemetery list that I had years ago. I have searched Morton myself with no luck. I would dearly love to find her.

Thank you so much for your help!
