I will take the requested photo tomorrow. However, according to his obituary and the social security index, his name is Elward John "E. J." Cortez. This is his obituary:

Deceased Name: Elward John "E.J." Cortez

Elward John "E.J." Cortez, requisition manager for Avondale Shipyards, died June 7 of an apparent heart attack while vacationing in Paris. He was 58. Mr. Cortez was a lifelong resident of Harvey and Marrero. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and attended Loyola University. He was a member of St. Thomas More Knights of Columbus Council 7226 and Eucharistic Minister Coordinator for Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America. He was a sergeant in the Marine Corps. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Barbier Cortez; his mother, Rosalie Chimento Cortez; two sons, Michael and Lt. Elward Patrick Cortez; two daughters, Stacy Gongora and Julie Ortego; and five grandchildren. A Mass will be said Saturday at noon at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3500 Ames Blvd., Marrero. Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park. Mothe Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

His mother died in 2002 and is buried at Westlawn, but i do not have the location. I might have some luck tomorrow when I take the photo, The cemetery office is closed until Monday. There is no information on the father. Below is her obituary:

Rosalie Rita Chimento Cortez, a retired housekeeper for the Archdiocese of New Orleans, died Saturday at West Jefferson Medical Center. She was 88. Ms. Cortez was a lifelong resident of Marrero. She was a member of the Italian American Society, a volunteer with Mary's Helpers and a parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Survivors include a sister, Constance Savoie; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 11 a.m. at St. Rosalie Catholic Church, 608 First Ave., Harvey. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna. Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
