I am from the Great Lakes State of Michigan. |
In search of my family tree I came across "Find A Grave". There are so many amazing members, always willing to help. I first started my genealogy research in 1988 at the New Registry House in Edinburgh, Scotland. My paternal Grandmother was from Glasgow, Scotland. Oh, how exciting it was to research her history, my favorite person in the world, that I actually felt her presence. But as Irish luck would have it, after three (3) days of research, I found I was on the wrong track. Right or wrong track, I wouldn't take that experience back for anything. I'm sure my patient and wonderful late husband would have though, as he toured Scotland by himself for three (3) days. But when he got on the Old Course at St. Andrews, all was forgiven. Since that time, I have grown my tree extensively accept from whence I started, my paternal Grandmother's history. It seems like every female in Scotland was born a Margaret Clark in her era! Shortly after arriving back to the U.S., I had a strong premonition one quiet evening to find my maternal grandfather and I jumped up, to my husband's surprise, and googled "Vermillion County"; clicked the link to their genealogy library; typed in my grandfathers name and, pronto, a bulletin popped up from an unknown looking for his great grandfather, Evan Wills. Low and behold, it was a cousin from Minneapolis I didn't know I had. He uploaded his "Wills" family tree and all of a sudden I had 1100 ancestors added to my then barren tree. Go figure, all the way to Scotland, filled with gratitude and come home empty handed and while sitting in my own living room in Michigan, filled with gratitude and overwhelmed with ancestors. The second blessing was that my Minneapolis cousin linked me to another "Wills" cousin living in Michigan and we immediately became the best of friends.

Are you related to him? You have him duplicated. I like one entry better than the other but you don't have him linked to his son on the other one.
Do you know anything about his daughter Rose Freleigh?
His wife Dorthy and second husband John James are also buried in that county. Find A Grave Memorial# 134378213
At one time they were all in Porter County Indiana and that's why I am tracking them down.

It had to have been The Daily Clintonian, day or two after date of death.
No, there were no dates on stone. Her husband was buried as Paul Ross. I have pic's somewhere of stones. I'll try to stop by the cemetery sometime soon & take again because I just looked & can't locate them at this time.
