I am retired and living in Florida. I have been working on my ancesteral roots off and on since 1980. I grew up in Blytheville, Arkansas, and had relatives in that general area until the newer generations started scattering all over the place.|
Tip of the day: Death certificates sometimes have mistakes. Gravestones are better.
Another thing: A gravestone photo is just about worthless if you can't read the name and dates. That means you might have to brush off the leaves or move the flowers over.
Beware the World Family Tree. It is so littered with bogus information that it has corrupted Ancestry's family trees. As Teddy Roosevelt once said, "bad information drives good information out of circulation".

Thank you for the corrections. Fixed per your suggestion. It was transferred to me and I thought it looked odd. Thanks again.

Hi Jerry. My Edwards roots go back to Fentress County, Tennessee, to my Second-Great Grand Aunt Lydia Otterson who was married to Arthur Edwards from North Carolina. One of their children was Henry William Edwards. Henry W. Married a woman named Jane. This family can be traced from the 1850 Fentress County, Tennessee, census. Their third child was James Arthur Edwards, born in 1845. In 1860, the family lived in Macoupin County, Illinois. In 1870-1880, they lived in Knox County, Missouri, where at least three of their sons are buried. James is listed by Arthur in the 1880 Knox County, Missouri census. His mother Jane is buried in the Davis Cemetery. I added Henry William Edwards to this cemetery. I apologize for any mistakes I made here in believing that this James Edwards was the son of my Henry William and Jane Edwards.

Thanks for the info and I changed her year of birth to 1820 on her memorial. Let me know if you don't think this is in the ball park.

Re: 96300155 memorial you created for "Mamie A. Beadles Lawton, Burial Unknown; died May 29, 1963, Oklahoma"; very recently updated adding Delong, new death date & place, bio, & burial location.
Thank you for contacting me regarding your duplicate memorial for Mamie Beadles DeLong. It's always best to follow Find A Grave guidelines and preserve the original Find A Grave memorial created with cemetery information. Would you like me to add your updated bio to the original memorial 71288892?

Hi Jerry, You're welcome...glad to help. Hope they get the cemeteries merged. There is a similar situation with a cemetery in Johnston City, but not sure how to go about getting it merged. If you have any luck maybe you can let me know.

I have linked William to his parents. I think we have talked before about some Edwards and you mentioned two different Somers Cemeteries. I am still wondering about that, as Somers Church cemetery is the one I have been to. I have noticed that Lawrence Karnes is listed in both Somers Cemetery & Somers Church Cemetery, but someone else has photographed his marker at Somers Church, and has listed James & Emily Edwards, as well. As I looked at Williams death record, I notice it just says "Somers", but he is at Somers Church. I also noticed that Somers Church Cemetery is listed as Johnston City...It is about 15 miles East of Johnston City. Somers Church Rd is the last road in Williamson County in this area. If you look at the map for Liberty Cemetery- N. America Rd-Galatia (Saline County), you will see Somers Church Rd.
I am not saying there are not two "Somers" Cemeteries, just trying to figure it out.
