Bio and Links
I work on Find A Grave because I love to do it! I am dedicated to doing a good job so if you see any mistakes I have made or want to add additional information to a memorial I maintain please feel free to contact me.

If you send me an edit please send me sources if it is something that can't be verified by an obit, death certificate or census records. I have added info to memorials from contributor suggestions only to be confronted by other contributors challenging the info. If I cannot verify the info with a source I will add it under the bio section along with your contributor name.

Many of my memorials are for Shippensburg, PA. Please note that Shippensburg is in two counties: Cumberland and Franklin. If a resource states a person was born or died in Shippensburg but does not identify which county I am unable to add Shippensburg to the place of birth/death field unless you can provide me with a street address.

Please also note there is a Southampton Township in Franklin County and a Southampton Township in Cumberland County.

If you take a better picture of a stone for a memorial please let me know and I will remove mine. Also, if you would like me to retake a photo of a stone just ask. When I started Find A Grave, I had an older software that did not allow me to straighten or crop pictures.

I genuinely care about the memorials I create for Find A Grave and the people those memorials represent. It is not a numbers game to me. It is not my intention to amass a large quantity of memorials. My desire is to create accurate, lasting tributes and to be able to aid family members and loved ones now and in years to come who may be doing genealogical research.

I have posted obits on many memorials I have created. I am in the process of removing the names of the living due to Find A Grave's current rules.

Obit from newspaper
Oh what a treasure that news account was! I can't thank you enough, Sherry. I was so moved when I first found info on his death last year and wondered how it happened. Then I found that it was that first day bloody battle, where the Alabama troops were their opposition..........I had ancestor's in the war from Alabama as well! My mother's family was North and my father's was south. It's truly a family against family situation like you hear about. Without that obit article I wouldn't have known that, or the circumstances. Thank you so much for the treasures and for going to the battle field. You're a little angel with your work. It must be a lovely experience.

RE: Thanks!
Oh yes please, Sherry, I'd love to see that newspaper account. I have other info to ad to his gravesite which I'll do soon. Thanks so much for "tending" to him.

George Vernon
RE: Ramp
I believe the birth record to be the more accurate. I have found, and you probably have too, that lots of those folks really did not know when they were born. The people giving the death info sometimes knew even less. I have found my info to be off by a year but have been reluctant to change Find A Grave info because mine could just as well be off. You be the judge in this case. Thanks for the feed back.

Hi Sherry,

I sent another correction through for HG Bittinger. His name is actually Horace Greely Bittinger...Helen Fulton's grandfather. I checked 84 cemetery, and it matches.
