Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am working on my family genealogy - in particular, I am researching several lineages - the Surace (Suraci) family that came from Podargoni, Reggio Calabria, Italy, who settled in Watertown, Jefferson County, New York in the early 20th century and the Scarfones from Santo Stefano di Aspromonte, Reggio Calabria, Italy, who also settled in Northern New York and Canada. I also enjoy helping others discover their ancestors.

RE: Misc
YES - Mary married a Watkins. The old spreadsheet had her listed as a Brandenburg, which is her maiden name. Mystery solved. :-)

And I will keep you in mind if we need help. There are a few headstones I cannot read, they need to be cleaned. Ive tried different times of day to get better shadows, but no luck. Maybe a team effort on those!

RE: Hello
Same! It is nice to meet the people who are helping with this. A year ago I felt like I was the only one. :-) I will keep you posted when we need volunteers to do rubbings to read some of the old headstones, if you are interested.

Jacob Dutrow
Melissa, THANK YOU for photographing Jacob's gravestone. If I'm ever out in Buckeystown, I may stop in and reset his stone. I just hate seeing stone that are fallen!
