RE: Mary Ann Holmes
Hi Ron,

Glad you found William Holmes parents! I think the extra marker I found for Mary Holmes in Knob Cemetery was the original marker for her. It was extremely weathered and only her name could be read. It makes sense to me now that her information was added to the side of the William's marker. Sorry I confused you!

RE: Headstone of Thomas Loveless
Ron,
I too am looking for the same photos but noticed the contributor added the wrong photos to the Thomas Memorial. I have asked to see if there are any other Lovelace head stones and will see if we get an answer. i will keep you posted.

RE: Holmes Headstone
Hi Ron,

I was at Knob Cemetery this week and came across a Holmes monument at the very back of the cemetery. It is in very poor condition. I can only readily read the surname on the base. I THINK the given name on the face is Mary. I remembered you were looking for some more Holmes in Knob. Maybe they are indeed buried there. I'm going back after the leaves fall off the trees and I hope to get a better photo than the one I took.

Have a great weekend!

RE: Holmes Headstone
Hi Ron,

I checked the transcription for Knob Cemetery at the Three Rivers Library today and the only Holmes listed were Jennie, William and Mary Ann which are already on Find A Grave - no luck in finding William's parents.

They still could be in the cemetery but that means the marker was missed in the project, the marker was missing altogether or one was never placed on their graves.

I took some new pictures of the Holmes marker. Check the memorials in a couple of days and you will see them. I have some other pictures to add to Find A Grave first.

RE: Holmes Headstone
Hi Ron,

Sorry, I don't know. Knob cemetery is in poor condition - years of neglect and no longer in use. Many tombstones are fallen and broken and missing. They could be buried there but I wouldn't be able to tell it. The St. Joseph County Genealogical Society did a cemetery transcription of all its cemeteries in the 1990's. A copy of that is in the Three Rivers Library. Looking through that might help. Do have any dates for William's parents? I don't get into the library often, but I could look the next time I'm there.

I forgot to mention that I did add a front photograph of the marker to Jennie and William Holmes' memorials. You can see that the photo is not too good since it was in shadow. It needs western light - so I need to take it in the afternoon!

Holmes Headstone
Hi Ron,

I was at the cemetery in the morning and to take a good picture of the entire headstone, I need the afternoon light. I was planning on making another trip, perhaps next week sometime, as most of the markers in that cemetery need the afternoon light. Just know that I'm working on it! (Have to get a slow leaking tire fixed before going again!)
