DEAR ANCESTOR

YOUR TOMBSTONE STANDS AMONG THE REST;
NEGLECTED AND ALONE
THE NAME AND DATE ARE CHISELED OUT
ON POLISHED MARBLE STONE

IT REACHES OUT TO ALL WHO CARE
IT IS TOO LATE TO MOURN
YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT I EXIST
YOU DIED AND I WAS BORN.

YET EACH OF US ARE CELLS OF YOU
IN FLESH, IN BLOOD, IN BONE.
OUR BLOOD CONTRACTS AND BEATS A PULSE
ENTIRELY NOT OUR OWN.

DEAR ANCESTOR, THE PLACE YOU FILLED
ONE-HUNDRED YEARS AGO
SPREADS OUT AMONG THE ONES YOU LEFT
WHO WOULD HAVE LOVED YOU SO.

I WONDER IF YOU LIVED AND LOVED,
I WONDER IF YOU KNEW
THAT SOMEDAY I WOULD FIND THIS SPOT,
AND COME TO VISIT YOU?

Phoebe Northrup Mem. #138184599
Thanks for the info on Phoebe, I'll check that. As for husband & wife dying on the same day, in our violent, disease-filled, world it has happened. Lieutenant Henry Adams was killed at his home in Medfield, MA, by Indians, 21 Feb 1676/77. His wife,
Elizabeth PAINE Adams, was accidentally shot to death later the same day, by Capt. John Jacob, while sleeping at Rev. Wilson's home.

Oh, Lordy! I knew that! Must have been late, or I was hungry and the brain wasn't working right!

Thanks for setting me straight!

RE: Lawrence Taglialavore/Malvina
Nope, don't think you missed a thing! :-)

Malvina must have been who they thought was named Sadie (maybe from Sansone?). And yes, I saw they married in 1928 and on the 1930 census was living apart. Short marriage.

And thanks for clearing up the Short name. I assumed it was another marriage of hers. Wonder why they listed him as a child for Lawrence since it was from Malvina's later marriage.

Roy was supposed to have been the adopted son with Florence.

Thanks for clearing it up!

Lawrence Taglialavore/Malvina
Hey! Just ran across this memorial and am wondering who Malvina is. His obit states he is the spouse of Florence Frey, father of Roy J. Taglialavore, Owen L. Short and Mrs. Salvador Barcelona. I see Joycelyn was married to a Barcelona at one time, but what do you think about the wife's name in the obit? Jill Tag said he was previously married to a Sadie for awhile, but the only child she or Tag knew about was Roy. Your thoughts?

Thanks for the heads up. I changed them to #2. Had gotten the info from Tag; I'm sure he wasn't sure at that time anyway.

RE: Hirstius Mem# 89822254
Hi,
You asked if the two other photos posted on the above memorial was in error. In this cemetery there are plots, that is the bottom photo showing a wide shot of the entire plot. The middle photo is of the family name on that plot. The headstone is within the "Farmer" plot. We provide the extra photos since most times they are related and can provide clues to researching further back.
Have a great day.
The Hartman's

P.S. if you click on the plot photo, then click on it again once it opens on the new page you can see n read the "Hirstius" headstone and the vase says, "Dave Farmer".
