Gale,
I read your note about Peter... that he might be listed as Stanley and that the "269" marker marks the foot, not the head. I have found Peter Backlund 1879-1974, Louise Backlund 1878-1962 and Gordon Backlund 1925-1994 but no Peter Backlund 1916-1990. I have been to this location twice and I still cannot find your Peter. The "269" number is just above Gordon's marker but the space above it is someone totally different. At this point I can go no farther.

You're welcome, happy to do it and it was not hard to find. I also took a photo of the other side of the marker that had several names on it:
Sheldon Hollingsworth 1835-1908
Charlotte Hollingsworth 1838-1913
Amy Baldwin 1863-1924
Reuben Baldwin 1864-1926
Lucy Baldwin 1885-1938
If you'd like to create memorials for any of these folks and put out a request for photos, I'll be happy to post it.

Hi Gale... I am going to Oak Hill tomorrow and will look for Mary Laird headstone for you. I do not see this name at all in genealogical index, but b/c you were so descriptive of location of stone, I do not doubt that you have accurate info. Hi Gale
I thought I should let you know that the correct gravesite loction for Louise is Plot 71,grave 272 and Peter is Plot 71, grave 271. There was also a Peter Backlund buried next to them in grave 269. I took a pic of that grave if you would like it. My email is OFD2548@HOTMAIL.COM | | |
