The Arrowhead Valley Chapter was organized on December 7, 2002, from the Arrowhead and San Bernardino, California chapters. Both chapters had long and illustrious histories. |
The Arrowhead Chapter was organized on April 19, 1917, the anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and the "shot heard round the world." The organizing regent was Mrs. Irving Davis.
The San Bernardino Chapter was organized soon after on March 20, 1920, with Mrs. Anna Boley Garner as organizing regent.
These two venerable chapters merged December 7, 2002 to form a very dynamic chapter.
As you will notice, many of the entries on Find-A-Grave include members from all three of the chapters and are referred to as being a former member of Arrowhead Valley Chapter. That is because we wish to honor all three chapters of "our former members".
We are what they were.
We are grateful to those of you who created their memorials and were willing to transfer them to us when we started our "Remember Our Members" project.

Barbara: Thank you for contacting me. I noticed when I pulled up Isaac that I didn't put the finishing touches on his memorial. I added a photo and place of death as far as I know it. I work from a list and I go to those plots. There are a lot of people buried there who do not have headstones. I don't have the list now, so I don't know if his wife was next to him or not. I do know there was no marker for her. I am going over to the cemetery today and will verify if for you.

I was able to get over the Great Mausoleum yesterday and posted a new photo of Liffie and her mother. Happy to see they added the year of death.
You are very welcome :)

I noticed your "flower" on my GGGG GF Moses Sanders' memorial "In loving memory of our former member, Carmen Petzold. She was the Proud Descendant of Revolutionary War Patriot Moses Sanders. HerFindAGraveMemorial#51372585
- Arrowhead Valley Chapter D A R".
Just for info: She probably never knew that while He was at one time an ancestor listed for membership in the DAR, that changed many years ago as there is no proof he served in the Continental Army, or even That he signed any oath of allegiance at the time of the Revolution. I am SAR eligible through another non Sanders GF.
I was visiting family in Idaho a few years ago thats how this memorial got in I took photos of that cemetery. I love Idaho I am from Pa. But glad to transfer to you. Take care Annie

Hi Barbara, we went back to the cemetery and walked alot of it. Then my husband saw the caretaker and we went in the office and looked in the records. Sadly, Charles is unmarked. I imagine he is in the space between Caroline and Ella. If you like we can add the plot photo or just leave it alone. I did learn that 3e and 3w means east and west. Take care, Connie and Wayne Clark, Auburn, Illinois

I just checked, and Malcolm is in Section 9, so I should be getting to him in the next couple of days.
