That's great Pat, I'm glad you were able to find the answer to where the name came from.

Hi Pat
You are more than welcome. I was wondering do you think she mite of been married before and that's where the name comes from?
Good luck in your search.

Hi Pat
I did the transfer for you and I'm thinking that someone sent me a correction and gave the Pluck name as her maiden name.

Patrick, I am happy to transfer this memorial to you. I had no information at all about this man, except a listing online. I noticed that he and/or his wife had ties to Coldwater, MI, Steuben County, IN, and Pueblo, CO, and my families are in these places. Maybe we are all related somehow. Regards, Diane

Hiram Woodard
Obituary: 27 FEB 1873
"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 29, No 9, p 35, Feb. 27, 1873.
death notice

I have a note as above. There is a man named Jon Saunders, who is a real pro when it comes to obits. I suspect the note above came from him.

I have been working hard on the Woodard people in that cemetery and related people there.

Look again and see if there is anything you regognize, but also see if you can find the obit.

I haven't stopped working on this problem. I could move Hiram to burial unknown, but I haven't finished researching the problem yet.

Have faith.

Many/most of the memorials in this area came from the Painted Hills cemetery lists.

First, we need to check those lists of people buried in each cemetery. Often there are no stones for these memorials, but the records generally come from the local historical society.

I will also check to see what else I have.

It is quite common for people to be returned and buried in an area, where the family has already purchased graves, to be used by whomever dies first. I have seen people brought back to New York from overseas or clear back from California.

Naturally, if you find proof that Hiram is some place else, let me know.
