I was born in Dyess, Arkansas, 1950. Raised in Eastern Arkansas, from McCrory, Wynne, Forrest City, and parts all around. Nearly all of my family is buried at Pumpkin Bend Cemetery and Smith Chappel, Halk, and Fakes. I enjoy geneology and searching for my family of the past. I currently live in Texas and have been here for 25 years..married with 2 sons, and 9 grandkids.
Would love to share info with anyone interested in Holt, Jones, Taylor, Campbell of Woodruff and Cross Counties.

Jodi, I am very much interested in your family of Taylor's. Sarah was my gggrandfather's daughter and sister to my ggrandfather. I would love to hear from you. Thanks. Cheryl Mullens Martin

RE: Dallas D. Taylor
I'm still searching..hopefully I can find more. My bulb in my microfilm reader blew on Saturday, but I ordered a new one and I'm hoping it will be in this week. I'll send more if I have any luck.

I transcribed the articles and emailed them to you, so if you don't see them check your spam folder.

Since it's Valentine's day, Hubby is cooking supper, so I'm going to head downstairs and search for the days before the shooting and see if I can find anything else.

Also, going to see if there are any in the time frame immediately after the arrest, because now I'm wondering if there was a trial.

Oh, and if he died on the 31st, then she did die 2 weeks after him. After Red shot her, they thought she was going to survive, an article in the paper from the 5th, mentions that she was doing much better, but then ultimately died on the 15th.

Yes, this afternoon I can email you the articles about Mary. JD is called Jodie in his short death notice, it mentions him being buried at Antioch, the same cemetery Mary is buried at.

Since you have an obit, I will go back through those few weeks of papers and see if I can locate anything. I did contact a researcher from that area that has transcribed every cemetery in Cullman county, he said if Dallas is buried in cullman county, it has to be in an unmarked grave.

Does his death certificate not list a burial location?

I haven't located an obit for him yet. Have you ordered a copy of his death certificate to make sure his death date is correct? I ask because I found many articles about "Red" shooting Mary and then Mary dying. The shooting took place on May 29th, 1949 and none of the articles mention the death of Dallas, her short obit doesn't mention a husband surviving her, so I know he died before she did, I'm just not 100% certain that the date on the Alabama death index is correct, and it wouldn't be the first time (or 10th) that I've found it to be incorrect.

George Dallas Taylor
Do you know who the father is of George Dallas Taylor memorial 58715636? I am researching the family line of James Harrison Pilgrim b SC and his wife whose name we believe to be Martha Elizabeth Taylor or Martha Taylor. Have very little on her and hoping that your George Taylor might give clues back to SC. Any help will be much appreciated.

Actually I have not had the chance to look for it yet. That day one of our children got sick with a stomach flu, and we've all passed it around since then. Thankfully I'm almost over it and hope to get back to my research this weekend.

I'll look today and email one to you, if I find it, at the email address posted here on findagrave. If I need to send it to a different address, please let me know.
