Hi Phyllis, thank you so much for taking the picture of Margaret's grave. I really appreciate it.

Sorry to take so long to respond. I returned from a business trip this weekend and just saw your note today. Yes, the elderly lady in the McElyea group photo is Martha Maroney Qualls, wife of James Qualls. I also have another photo of her. Please email me at and I will be glad to send it to you.

RE: Baker ancestry
His son Thomas Carl Baker took him there from Bentonville in 1902 after his wife Cynthia died. He never had a grave marker but old cemetery records had him listed. I had the headstone installed last month and I went there to see it. He was my gg grandfather. I have a lot of Baker information, pictures etc.
Do you have pictures of Margaret or her grave?

RE: John Raymon Hill
Hello Phyllis,

Maybe I should say hello cousin.

There is absolutely no doubt they knew each other. Especially since Ozell Nix was my father's 1st cousin.

Thomas Andrew Hill, or Drew Hill as he was known, was my grandfather's brother. I guess the post office was a family business, because my father's uncle, John Conley and his son also worked there.

I might have met Mr. Nix myself, because I drove my father's mail truck and delivered the mailbags with him for 2 of the many years he did that.

I will temporarily make my personal email available for you to get, if you would like to contact me directly. I really would look forward to exchanging information with you if that's agreeable.

It's great to hear from you,
