Thank you, Ramona, for thinking of us. We are the lucky ones and sustained minimal damage. Our little town was relatively unharmed compared to the utter devestation of the towns around us. I am from Louisiana and have seen my fair share of hurricane damage. My family lives in New Orleans, but I think this is much worse. Staten Island, NY and parts of Jersey were literally wiped out and when you see it you cannot believe it. Towns just 6 miles from me, on the water had serious damage and didn't have power for over a month. I did volunteer work in Staten Island and the poor folks there are in very bad shape. I am just not sure how they are going to be able to get back to normal as there are so many people affected. Thanks for checking on us!
By the way, we were in Liberty and found the death notice for William Ross. I have a better copy than the one my sister posted. It clearly states in the article that he was 70 years old when he died, so he was born in 1805. I had asked Helen Strickland to change it, but she said she wanted proof which I appreciate because it is important to be accurate. So, I found the death notice and my sister posted it. Would you please change is birth year to 1805 for me? Thanks!

Last time we were in contact, you had just been hit by hurricane sandy. I sincerely hope you are recovering from that horrible storm and getting your life back together. I have often thought of you and hoped you weren't too devastated.

We are headed to the Rollins Family Reunion in October and we're hoping you will be there. I am looking forward to going, as neither my sister or I have ever been to it. My mother, Leta Ruth Mills Mettz and her sister, Alma went many times, as children and I believe twice as adults. We have heard many great stories about them. We hope you are coming too! In the meantime, I was hoping that you could help me with some information on James Ross and Jane Ross Black. Recently I have researched the pension records for the War of 1812 and found that James aided the effort, as a teamster. I found the pension record where listing Jane as his widow. Do you have any additional information regarding James's service in the War of 1812? Thanking you in advance for any information you may have.
All the best,

Hello! I was so thrilled to find the memorial for my 4x great grandfather Williams Ross. I have email Helen Strickland and asked her to make some edits. I also asked her where the portrait is - who had it etc - and then realized that you contributed it ans was hoping you could tell me some of the history of the portrait and any family history of the Ross family
I am named after the line of Nancy's - Nancy Hawkins Ross - Nancy (aka Nannie) Rollins McGee her granddaughter was my mother's grandmother and she loved her with all of her heart - so my name is Nancy!
I have the family photo album of Benjamin Franklin Rollins and Eveline Ross Rollins - it is red velvet and has numerous photos.
I would love to share any information with you and would gladly scan more pictures and send to you.
Thank you so very much!
