" Remember me in the family tree - My name, my days, my strife: then I'll ride upon the wings of time and live an endless life".|
I am mainly researching burials of military personnel.
Adding soldiers from the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War (Union and Confederate), Indian Wars, Spanish-American War, Philippine-American War, World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, non-wartime vets, relatives of my own family and a few "others".
It pains me to come across Veterans on Find A Grave with no mention of their service to this country. If there is not a military headstone picture then their efforts are dismissed with just a name and birth/death year. I think they deserve a little more effort. I am adding any extra facts I can find on them and as many of their family members as possible. It may take longer, but it's worth it. Almost all of the "virtual flowers" I have added to memorials are detailed information on the person's military service record.
I am asking nicely that you please do not post birth/marriage/death certificates to the memorials I have added. I could have, but choose not to do so. Especially Death Records. They can sometimes be to intrusive. Most records of this type are just repeating what has already been added. Additional information can easily be done with an "Edit".
If you find a mistake please let me know by the "Edit" tab. I am more than happy to get things right. If I send you a note/edit, with some information, it's to help not to be a pain in the you-know-what. I personally believe all should be connected with their kin and have all pertinent facts correct.
I will be more than happy to transfer my non-family tree additions. Just tell me your relationship to the dearly departed with a little detailed information. I just ask that you please keep the information of their service to our nation.
Mistakes may be made, but they can easily be fixed. At least I'm trying.
No harm, no foul.

I'm thinking about putting a book (actually a series of books) together about Magdalena, NM area veterans starting with WWI. I'd like to use the photograph of Raymond Curtis Bloom as well as the newspaper obituary. I would love to give you the credit for both. If this is acceptable, please let me know.
Thank you for making this effort for our veterans. I retired from the Air Force after 24 years and appreciate the sacrifice of all veterans. I'm married to a Vietnam vet and have two sons who were both in the military. We're die hard.

I sent you the transfer so you can make any changes you wish. This person is not related to me.
|Robert Galloway||James "Moe" Alley, Band of Brothers|
I saw on your biography page that you are especially interested in seeing that service members are given credit and recognition for their service to this country on their Find A Grave memorial record.
After seeing the Airborne patch I felt like you would appreciate this record for James Alley that I put on for him in 2014. It is # 124512085 if you want to check it out.
|Diane Clobus Dean||Mary Bridget Gennessy Borchers|
Thank you for the edits and her obituary.
I would be more than happy to transfer her to you if you'd like. She is no relation to me.
|M West||PFC Kenneth C. Olsen|
I would like to ask that you transfer this memorial 130822360 to me. Kenneth Olsen's dad was my great-grandpa's brother. He's a cousin of mine, I guess you could say. I have a copy of a newspaper article about his service and death, and I'd like to link him further with his family. We have a lot of military vets in our family, his memorial would be well taken care of.
Thanks for your consideration,

|Orvan L Mabie Jr||Frederick Everett|
thanks for the edits and for catching my error
|Jan Dishon||James Harr Linn|
Thanks for the correction on his death place. Our Linn website has that he died in Illinois however after I created the memorial I found his death information in Florida and coded it into my genealogy program but forgot to change it on the Find A Grave memorial.
I have accepted Laura Clark too.
