Mainly researching burials of WWI military personnel (starting with Ohio). There are some from other wars and relatives of my own family tree.|
It pains me to come across Veterans on Find A Grave with no mention of their service to this country. If there is not a military headstone picture then their efforts are dismissed with just a name and birth/death year. I think they deserve a little more effort and this veteran is willing to give it to them.
Please understand that the Vets may have served in other units/held higher ranks. Most of the information is from the "Headstone Applications for Military Veterans". The last Rank/Duty Station of the Veteran, during wartime, is the information that was placed on the headstones. I am adding any extra facts I can find on them.
I may just have a few, but I actually put some time in to research each person. I think they deserve as much. Numbers have always given me a headache. I would rather have quality over quantity. The headstones may become unreadable in the future, but each individual was more than just another notch on the old belt.
I do want to thank those high number individuals who really care. We all have our own ways - different strokes for different folks.
If you find a mistake please let me know by the "Edit" tab. I am more than happy to get things right. If I send you a note, with some information, it's to help not to be a pain in the you-know-what. Don't all on Find A Grave deserve to be connected with their kin and have all pertinent facts correct? Wouldn't you want it on your future memorial?
I will be more than happy to transfer my non-family tree additions. Just tell me your relationship to the dearly departed with a little detailed information.
Mistakes may be made, but they can easily be fixed. At least I'm trying.
No harm, no foul.

Patrick, I have transferred both Anita and Robert to you. Regarding Jennie if you email a request to Hillary Nelson I am sure she would transfer her to you as well. I am glad these memorials will be managed by someone who is connected to them. If I can assist in any other way please let me know, and have a Merry Christmas.

Thanks for the information! I added Clara's maiden name to her memorial. Always happy to add new information to any memorial. Connie Kline
I have changed the memorial for Calvin Simmers as you requested.
I'm not sure how to handle this situation. Is the memorial I created considered a duplicate and therefore, should be deleted? Or since there is a stone for him in Oak Lawn Cemetery should the memorial remain?
I applaud your efforts concerning memorializing our veterans, and agree they deserve to be recognized for their sacrifices.
Please advise how you would like me to handle this, I am also willing to transfer management of this memorial to you.
