Jimmy, I will have to see if the gate is open. Normally it is locked and none of the many roads leading to the cemetery can be accessed. It is only a few miles, at most, from my house.

Sally Minus Bridge
Hi! I was curious how the Sally Minus Memorial Bridge was named - when and who she was. I saw that you also asked the same thing and wondered if you ever found an answer.

Thank you so much for taking this photo. Jackie was one of the dearest humans ever put upon this earth. He was a gospel singer and sang from the age of 5 until his death. He love the Lord and loved to sing his praises.

Thank you for taking that pic so quickly for me, it is of the grave of my daughter's boyfriend's mother who died too young and wanted to make sure all was ready when we make that one year trek up to Montevallo soon. Thanks again!! Jeannine

RE: Sally Minus
I've just 'found' your message. Re. Sally Minus. Sally's maiden name was Payne. She was the first cousin of my late father-in-law who was William Roger Smith, Sr. (buried in Central Cemetery in Sumter County AL). Sally's mother and Mr.Roger's mother were sisters. Sally had two sons and one daughter. Her oldest son was a politician for some time and during that time he got the bridge named after his mother. The bridge is pretty close to the home Sally and her husband Preston shared for years. I hope this helps.
