FRANK JALSMA AND NELSON TIMMONS
Frank Jalsma and Nelson Timmons

Dear Mr. Woodward:

This is a plea. Back in the 1960's two ministers came to town, whom we called Frank and Tim. They bought a 150-year old family home from my grandfather, became ministers in the small farm community of Summit, Lutheranville and East Worcester, NY. Recently I bumped into a Dutch family whom Frank and Tim assisted in immigrating to the USA back then. Long story short there is a family bible from the 1700's. Our family is Lape, originally from German ancestory, who settled along the Hudson in dorfs at Rheinbeck and Hudson in the 1700's, then moved to farm in Greenbush and Rensselaer, then still onward, settling the hamlet of Lutheranville, NY (Summit township) in 1814.

They had a family bible that they brought with them to that house. The Dutch family, who lived with Frank and Tim from 1960 to 1964, remembers seeing it and looking at it. Frank and Tim left Schoharie County for Spartanburg or Union, SC via NYC about 1964 or so, and I was wondering if there is any family member of either who is still living or if by any chance you or anyone you can think of anyone with knowledge of the bible. I am willing to buy it. We have been searching for the Lape Bible for over fifty years, daily, and this is the first, most fantastic lead.

RE: Bryant and Wihlamina Johnson
It has been a week since I accepted the request, I haven't forgotten. I called the office and was told where they are.

Anyway, I think I will just head out there tomorrow so I have enough time to walk around. So you will get the photos then.

Have a good weekend.

Do you know what general area or section they are buried in so I can find them?

RE: Link Lester to parents
You are welcome! It looks like the person who created the memorial needs to enter the links between family members. Good luck!

Would you like his memorial transferred to you? I don't have a connection to family that I know of. I probably took the pictures as a request in 2008.
