Does your Find A Grave profile make you sound bossy, irritable or arrogant? Lighten up. Bullying went out of style in the last century.
Phony-baloney "rules." A few Gravers create faux rules, like "no death certificates on my memorials," despite the fact that the FAQs are perfectly clear: "Death certificates may be added via the 'Add a photo' button on the memorial page." Maybe these folks missed the "follow the rules" and "play nicely with others" lessons in kindergarten.

It needs to be deleted. .... yours was first. Just ask them to delete the dupe. If not deleted. ... send it to the admins at Find A Grave. The site Is not big enough for dupes. The LaCrosse area has several duplicators!

In reply to your message to me about Daniel's birth date, I take that your are going by census info. Thats OK but if you bring his memorial and look at the picture of his stone you will see it reads 1830. That is where I get that date. Let me know.
Thanks! I corrected the spelling. :)

You are more than welcome, Jay. You actually returned a favor to me. I found your hyperlinks on your Caudy pages very useful and I am now incorporating them into my pages. Thanks for the inspiration. Best regards, Jan
Thanks for responding to my message and letting me know I forgot to change the date on the memorial. I guess I confused myself writing the message (ha-ha). Since I'm using the date and "evidence" from TraciRose, I'm not going to burden the memorial with my cursory research. I try to make the memorials I create as accurate as possible. It's wonderful that both you and TraciRose responded so quickly and we've all come together to get the best info available.

Thank you for the information you furnished regarding Louis Fahrlender. I have questions concerning his date of birth.
TraciRose gives his date of birth is 03/15/1875, and Jay Wright shows it as March 1873.
The 1900 census for Hillsboro, Highland Co., OH, a copy of which was uploaded by Jay Wright on the memorial, shows that Louis Fahrlender was born in March 1873.
The NM Death Index (http://files.usgwarchives.net/nm/state/vitals/deaths/fabfim.txt) shows that he was the age of "566" at the time of his death, making his date of birth ca 1874-1875.
See the following records that appear on https://familysearch.org/:
• The 1900 Census covering Port Aparri Field, Staff, Band 16th Infantry, Philippines, shows his date of birth as March 1875.
• The 1930 Census for Precinct 1, Chaves Co., NM, shows his estimated birth year as 1875.
• A US Register of Enlistments shows Lewis Fahrlender was 21 yrs. old when he enlisted on 03/30/1894, giving his estimated birth year as 1873.
• A US Register of Enlistments shows Louis Fahrlender was 23 yrs. 11 mos. old when he enlisted on 02/02/1899, indicating he was born ca March 1875.
• His WWI Draft Registration Card dated 09/12/1918 shows his date of birth as 03/15/1875.
• A Family Tree for Leopold Fahrlender shows he has a son, Leopold Charles Fahrlender, born 03/15/1875 and died 01/28/1932.
I have (for now) shown the date of birth as March 15, 1875, but I'm open to your input.

Thank you, Jay, for making the edits for The Caudy Family. It was a pleasure working with you on that. Best regards, Jan
Copied & pasted the information to the bio. Hopefully this will stop any duplication. Glad to help. :)
