Bio and Links
Bio Photo Retired and becoming obsessed with my family tree. Zipped through my mother's father since he came from a large, well-known family. Other family members had already done the work and I found all my information (unverified) back to the 12th century on free internet sites. Trying to start now on my mother's mother, but the family was small with much-too-common names. I am hitting brick wall after brick wall and resisting paying a fortune to a big genealogy site. At the moment I am definitely enjoying the challenge of maneuvering through the back byways.

If anyone has any information on the following TALBOT COUNTY, GA. people, I would love to hear from you: John D. Allen (c.1838), Elizabeth Cameron Allen (c.1847), John A. Cameron (c.1808 SC), Elizabeth Nelson Cameron (c.1807), James J.W. Allen (c.1813 SC), and Jane B. Johnston Allen (c.1813 SC).

Elizabeth Collier
Hello, I am a descendant of Vines Collier's daughter, Elizabeth. I was wondering if you had any information on what source is cited for the births of his children? I see each has an exact birthdate just curious if it comes from a family bible, etc. Thanks!

re: James Franklin Spiller
I agree! Some of these supposed burials do seem strange. I have had a terrible time with all the Taylor Co GA cemetery surveys. I can not determine if it was the fault of the "surveyors" or the person who "retyped" the survey for on-line usage. When a "survey" is done it is suppose to represent the "actual" markers. Not the interpretation by the surveyor or addtions by the retyper. The Taylor County surveys have full names listed, when only the intials are on the markers. They also have full dates added when none or only the years are on the marker. That is why I always add "Marker reads as ..." to my memorials, when there is a difference.

Then their are listings for family that the surveyor thinks "ought" to be in the cemetery because of the relationship. If you try to contact the surveyor, guess what! that email address isn't valid! Considering the number of errors in Taylor County I wonder if the surveyors actually went to the cemeteries or all their info was from the census or family trees on-line. I think the *astrisk next to an entry means she's "guessing".

If you find my memorials in another cemetery I will be glad to correct the burial location. I wish I could visit the cemeteries myself, but I am not physically able to get out anymore. Thank you so much for the work you do for Find A Grave.
