Bio and Links
Bio Photo 13 May 2014: I am getting too many e-mails giving me information that I have no idea what to do with, requests for edits that make no sense, supposed duplicates but no FAG #'s, etc. I am fairly good at what I do but (unless you are my husband) a mind reader I am not. If you send me something, please explain what you want done with it, add FAG numbers to people you want edited. Please use the EDIT link for names, dates and linking. If you have no e-mail in your profile, I am going to delete the e-mail sent to me.

I was was born and raised in Marshfield, WI. I have been deeply involved in genealogy for over 20 years. Along with research, I have also run a Family History Center and taught classes. I am willing to do research for most requests. I am well located for Wood, Clark, Marathon and Taylor counties. Lincoln and Portage are also near by.

This is my system for doing cemeteries. I have a government job that has strange hours and erratic appointment times. I have learned to carry a camera and area cemetery maps with me at all times. I may have minutes or hours in between things so that may determine how many pictures get taken. I take a picture of every stone as time allows including cleaning up the really nasty ones. I do look over the requests but do not "claim" them because I don't know when I will get them downloaded so that may explain why "requests" are filled "hit and miss". (It's also really to hard to see all those tiny photos in my program to pick and chose certain ones!)I have taken as few as 200 pictures to 800+ per cemetery visit depending on time and the size of the cemetery. I multi-task in front of the TV at night.

Please feel free to use my photos anyway you want. I believe in sharing. No special request is needed.

Also I do not care if you use my personal e-mail to contact me about edits but PLEASE include the name, cemetery and FAG number. I have been getting too many e-mails without this info and since the majority of my contributions are complete strangers to me, it is hard to respond properly with out this info.
Feel free to ask for transfers. Except for my own family I have no special attachment to the 1000's of photos I have taken. I think the comedian Rodney Dangerfield said "Take them, PLEASE, they're mine!"
Recently, I made an observation--Delete and Deliver both begin with "de" which explains why when I am tired I may hit the wrong one so if I don't respond or make an edit try again. I also noted that other words begin with "de" like dementia, demented, delusional and delirium, which explains the rest of me.

RE: Lorraine/Ramona McCorkle
Sorry this took me so long.
Lorraine Margaret Miles born 9 Sept 1906 (some records say Margaret Lorraine) Baptized Lorraine Margaret on 16 Sept 1906
Father: Edger R Miles
Mother: Rosalie Ratelle
They had 6 children:
Lorraine Died 26 Aug 1973
Edger Died 16 March 1908
Rosalie Died 20 April 1915
After Rosalie's death the children were split up, Lorraine went live with Clarence and his wife Mary Claire Ratelle in Los Angeles CA. They had a daughter Romona about the same age as Lorraine.
Clarence is the son of Rosalie's cousin Frank Ratelle. That explains the confusion on the 2 names. They are both listed in the 1920 censes as daughters of Clarence Ratelle. Lorraine Married Leo Charles McCorkle 27 Nov 1926. They had 2 sons still living. I am the wife of the younger son.
I hope this is helpful. If you want to contact me my e-mail is

It was nice of you to take the time to respond. You look to be very busy doing what you are doing. Here's hoping W Loy Frisk Simmons replies. I always like to solve these little mysteries, even when I am part of them. Again, thanks and all the best. Tim

Bertha M Cordle and
Ulysess Higby. This is an email I sent to W. Loy Frisk Simmons (#47206605) in regards to Bertha # 94099345 and Ulysess Higby # 94099364.
Ulysess Grant Higby
My name is Tim Smith. Firstly I want to thank you for all the dedicated efforts on your part to add to the Find A Grave information. I rely heavily on this. I am related to UGH. It goes husband of 1st cousin 1x removed of wife of 1st cousin 2x removed. Kind of distant but still interesting to do. I see the stone for him as 1865-1949. I find it confusing as the census records for him all indicate that his birth to be about 1869, and some how I have 18 Nov of 1869. Also the name Ulysess does not seem to be a correct spelling. And in looking at his wife Bertha Mae, her stone says May B Higby and see where you say her name in actuality is Bertha Mae. Also some how I have gotten her death date and month as 23 Feb. Some of this information I have relied on other family trees to be accurate. I understand that they are not always accurate, as my tree may not be accurate as well. Just wondered if you had any thoughts, and in the mean time I will investigate a little harder where I got my information. My email is if you prefer to communicate that way. Thanks in advance. Tim Smith
I am not sure if maybe it is you I should be writing to in regards to this as you were the original contributor for Bertha M. It is confusing and I have gone back and looked at all the family trees that have these people listed and the dates of birth and death listed and no evidence for the dates. I asked W Loy Fisk Simmons the questions also. My email is as is listed in my profile. This is not an emergency by any means but just a question of the facts. If you are not the one I should be questioning, I did, like I said, leave the question with W Loy Fisk Simmons. Thanks. Tim Smith.

Thank You So very much
I would like to take this moment to say a heartfelt Thank you for the photo of my Grandmothers (Irma Sell Leffel) grave. I was in the hospital in Germany when my Grandmother passed away and was not able to return for her funeral. Over the years we lost contact with that side of the family and I had no idea where she was interned. After my mother passed in October 2013, I had many unanswered questions. You have answered one of them and I would like to thank you very much

RE: Sophie and Walter Helke
Thank you so much for checking on that. For my future reference, can you tell me where the index for St. Joseph is located? Thanks for all you do!

Thank you much for the transfer. I have looked for him for years and had been spelling his name incorrectly. With your gravestone photo, I was able to find his obituary. I'm so glad that you get to so many cemeteries. :)

Thanks again,
