DEFINITION OF A MEMORIAL: A memorial is a statue, holiday or statement in honor of an event or someone who has passed away.

TRANSFER REQUESTS are made in accordance with Find A Grave guidelines. Your relationship MUST be included in transfer requests. I confirm a relationship before transferring a memorial.

BIO'S and links should NOT be removed from transferred memorials. Please be respectful of the time and effort that goes into writing an individual biography. Individuals who do this will be refused future transfer requests.

TRANSFERS, UPDATES AND CORRECTIONS must be made with the SAC EDIT tab on each memorial. Requests made via personal email or FAG public message board will NOT be honored. FAG gives 30-days to respond to requests. Requests should be made in a courteous and respectful manner. PLEASE and THANK YOU go a long way.

DUPLICATIONS: Duplicate memorials are not created intentionally. If you find a duplicate memorial, please notify me and I will make the correction. FAQ 141

WRONG CEMETERY: Obituaries, news articles and burial records and even death certificates, may contain incorrect or unclear information about the burial. Very often a cemetery has been referred to by many different names and the one you find on FAG, may not be the cemetery name used on other documents. If you find a memorial you believe is in the wrong cemetery, please notify me, and include the source of your information. I will confirm and move the memorial, with proper source documentation.

COPYRIGHT: All written and photographic materials are protected by copyright laws. You must have written permission from the originator to them. After being given permisson, you should document the creator's information, the source, and a web link to the source, when possible. Please refer to Find A Grave FAQ's.

RE: judith gordon swope
My daughter and I are planning a trip to Evans Cemetery this summer -- is there anything (one) you would want to know if we stumble across it!?

Judith Gordon Swope
My ancestral line: Luther W. Wise, Jr. was my father, and married when I was born to him and my mother, Fern Daugherty. My grandfather would be Luther M. Wise, Sr. (from Dudley) and his wife was Estella (Stella) Swope. HER father was William Robert Swope, Jr. (Willie) and mother Welthea Zimmerman. HIS father was Wm. Robert Swope (Mountain Bill) and Judith Gordon. Interesting facts in my "blood line" is that my daughter is VERY interested in native herbs; I have always been fascinated with Native Americans and have several friends and connections there; and my granddaughter is very connected to horses! So we would all like to see if these things are "in the blood" -- LOL!!

I am trying to connect Judith Gordon to my Swope ancestry -- can you give me any other details about her life? Or Mountain Bill?? There may be interesting details in our family that relate to these people.

Sharron,

Thank you for your reply and info. I also sent a request to join that group on FB. Maybe I can find other "cousins" researching that line.

Thanks!
Brian

James Clark #57807033
I was wondering if you were related to this James Clark. He is my 6th Great Grandfather and I'm having trouble finding anyone on this line.

I had the new headstone installed on his grave back in the early 1990's and unfortunately, not living in that area, wasn't able to check on the work that the memorial company did. The installed the stone facing the wrong way and instead of installing it with the old original stone, they removed the original stone and trashed it...

Anyhow, just wondering...

Julia (Judith) Gordon Swope
Hi Sharron,
Julia (Judith) Gordon Swope was my great-great-great grandmother, and I was wondering if you knew any further info about her or her mother. I'm particularly interested in the rumors of Native American ancestry.

Thanks!
