Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in the Midwest, but have lived most of my life in the south. I was stationed in Germany for a time, and have otherwise done a little travel to Europe and Asia. I spend far too much time on the computer, enjoy a good frappuccino, and I ♥LOVE♥ cats.

My primary family names are Sullivan, McCoy, Withee, Fredendall, Washburn, Nesbit, Schmidt, Petersen, Meyer (Meier), Markman, Pease, Millikan, Donnan, and still counting.

I view the memorials on this site as living tributes to our loved ones. I strive to "reunite" them with family, and if I am able, to add a personal detail or two about them.

********************************************************
Photos

You are welcome to use any photos which I have uploaded for your personal family research work, but please do not use them for commercial purposes. The photos I upload are intended as gifts for the families of the deceased with no regard for personal profit, with the exception of the honor of providing them, and I wish for this to be respected.

Photo Allotments

We are allotted 20 photo requests per week. I am requesting for everyone to please use your allotment. Memorials you manage, memorials I manage ~ it doesn't matter.

Headstone photos may assist in providing confirmation of birth and death details, marriage dates, children, spellings, and might even lead to the discovery of additional family members.

Requests fulfillments also provide a small reward to our volunteers who often drive several miles to obtain a photo. I have so often seen where someone will request a photo, and then ask for the volunteer to take a photo of their spouse too, without submitting the request for the additional photo. Why?

It's much easier to request 20 photos in a cemetery that it is for the volunteer to drive out, take them, edit them, caption them, and post them. While I do try to get other family near the one requested in case they are not already listed, it is nice if you also request them, so please take the time to request them and please try to remember to use your weekly allotment.

Suggestions, Corrections, and Transfers

I generally adhere to Find A Grave transfer request guidelines, but before requesting, please keep in mind that even a "starter" memorial involves effort to create and I am more than willing to accomplish edits. Also, if a transfer or edit request comes off as pushy, arrogant, demanding, or rude, do not be surprised if you are ignored.

This site was created as a means of helping others, and not intended as a means to criticize, harass, bully or badger. Be kind to your fellow volunteers as we are all trying to achieve the same goal of helping others.

RE: More Clayton
Ref: Frank and Amelia's children. I did not know they were in a South Dakota Orphanage. I do know that while Frank and Ella were lodging with relatives in South Dakota, that only Frank & Ella's three children are listed. Thank-You I'm learning new things about the family That's great.
While Mary Clayton was in Beatrice Home, she was raped and had a child as a result of the rape. The child was taken away from Mary and adopted out. We have no idea where the child went.

Rose (Clayton) Shaffer's husband was James H Shaffer (nickname Scoop) b Oct25,1924 in Hooper NE d May 23,1979 in Grand Island NE. He is buried in Hooper Ne cemetery.
Alfred Clayton married Hazel Drake b Oct 17,1927 in Columbus NE d July 27,1997 in Fremont NE She is buried at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont NE. The State of Nebraska took their children away from them. The youngest child Charles born 1952 in Fremont NE was adopted out and completely changed his name and no contact with his birth family.
Anna (Clayton) Temple b 1900 d in 1969 at the age of 69 yrs old.
Joan Clayton b & d 1942 was the stillborn daughter of Ernest Clayton & Doris (Brown-Mohr) Clayton.
Doris' 1st marriage was to Thomas Mohr. They divorced. I believe they had 3 children. Thomas took the children and left them with his parents to raise.
I hope you find this information helpful. If I missed anything please let me know and Thank You

RE: Clayton
Frank Sr. was not born in Iowa..We were told that he came to Nebraska on the orphan train. Not true.

1880 Census Fairmont,Marion,West Virginia. Household: Festus Fleming Frank is 17yoa and is a laborer. He worked all his life and never learned to read or write. He married Amelia Kerel May of 1897 in Boone County I have a copy of their marriage certificate. He married Ella Kerel June 14,1912 in O'Neil Nebraska. I have a copy of their marriage certificate.
Mary Clayton is buried at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont. Born March 1894 Died July 25,1963 at the age of 69. I have her obituary. The children were in the Beatrice Home, not the South Dakota one. In 1920 the family was still in Boone County Nebraska. My mother was born in 1929 in Petersburg Nebraska in a covered wagon. They went to visit Ella's relatives The Halversons in South Dakota Then moved to Fremont Nebraska in 1930. I have pictures, documents, etc.

RE: Clayton
Frank Magnus was also know as Frank Jr. Son of Frank and Amelia (Kerel) Clayton.
Yes Frank Clayton's father was African American. His mother may have been of mixed race or Native American.

Mary was the daughter of Frank and Amelia (Kerel) Clayton She was born in March of 1894 in Albion Nebraska. She died July 25,1963 at the Beatrice State Home in Beatrice Nebraska. She is buried at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont Nebraska.

I also sent information on Frank Sr. page. Including how Amelia died. She is buried in an unmarked grave just to the south of Frank.

If you have any other questions, please let me know and I will try to answer them for you.
