Starting this adventure looking for Revolutionary War Patriots, I had no idea where this was going to take me. Through family papers, friends and kind souls found on this site, I have found a heritage rich in fascinating stories and history.

Researching Dysinger, Miller, Marshall, Hermany, Willard and Stokes families are my main focus. If you have stories, information or photos, please let me know.

Any photos or stories that you may have about the Millers and Dysingers in the Royalton area of New York, would be greatly appreciated.

Poem on my site
The poem I copied when I was about 14, by then I had been cemetery walking all my life and thought it was cool. I am only sorry I don't know who wrote it or where I found it.

Inscription on back of Willard marker

I found two things I want to bring to your attention.

There is an inscription on the back of the Willard family marker that reads:

Helen Heitchu Willard Marshall
May 29, 1897-March 4, 1975
At Rest in Woodbury, Connecticut

There is another individual marker that reads:

Hazel Willard Householder
Mar. 11, 1890
Jan. 17, 1954

I took photos of both, but I don't find memorial pages for either of them. Please let me know if you would want the photos and how to send them to you. Thank you!

James Lithgow Smyser
Thanks for the information. I have added what you sent to the memorial and have linked the memorial to yours of his wife Hettie May Hermany.

Smyser Lot
This is really two lots with about 57 graves, with about 3/4 of them occupied or spoken for. Thes e lots were purchased in 1863 by James S. Lithgow, J. L Smyser and C. O. Smith. There are many others besides their families buried there. And there are still empty graves that are available. If you are a direct descendant then you probably could claim a spot. ;-)

I think you would be interested in the lot card as it has so much info on it. If you want it all you have to do is email me you home mailing address and I send it to you.
