For more years than I want to remember I've been researching my "roots" .. my Hudson lineage extends back, alphabetically, to the Brown, Ellis, Erwin and McKirgan families on that line, plus Boyd, Counts & Rimbach for my paternal grandmother .. I'm currently especially interested in the history of the Cedar Fork Community Cemetery. My mother's lineage includes Schulte, Schumer, Schamel and Russell .. a combination of German, French & Irish.
RE: Mary Brewster Hi Lou, Nice to hear from you. We have communicated before, mostly when I was new to genealogy and trying to learn everything all at once. Mary Elizabeth McCabe was the wife of Thomas Brewster. I have the month and day of her death but no year. Thomas went to Umatilla County, in northern Oregon.Mary's youngest brother, Thomas, went so southern Oregon, near Medord. Thanks for your help. Shirley
Was looking at the photo you took for this gent - 24527168. In one of your photos you described the dates after the stone had been cleaned as b. 1840 d. 1814.
If his DOB is 1740, you might send the creator of the memorial a correction (via the edit tab)for the name Edward Ervin instead of Edward Ervine and the dates you put on your photos and also his parents!
RE: RE ERWIN POSTINGS ... Thank you for checking the cemetery. My source is: Cedar Fork Cemetery (Perry County, Missouri), On Cedar Fork (Perryville, Missouri: Perry County Historical Society, 1986), p. 7.
The source indicates the following regarding the Cedar Fork Cemetery: "No burial records exist. The tombstone inscriptions ... have been taken from the monuments in the cemetery, from old newspaper obituaries, from the Brewer Monument records and from information received from area residents, makin this first revision more accurate thatn the first edition of "On Cedar Fork" (p. 4).
The specific source of information on the Erwins is not indicated, so I was simply hoping that there was a headstone or marker for this couple. Thanks again for checking.
