How are you kin? This would be helpful in my decision. There are people here in Matagorda County that I know are kin to them.

Mary Stockstill
Good Evening!

I am sorry for just now getting back on the computer as work demands and gardening have taken me away from genealogy for about a month. I've transferred Mary Lavinia Knight-Stockstill over to you as I'm sure you can make your appropriate connections.

I really wish you can get in contact with my cousin, Steve Gordon. He is through John Warner line while I am through Joshua, the younger. Steve's mother and my dad are siblings but connect through his dad and my mother. Small world.

Steve has numerous letters from the late 1800's that were written to/by his uncle Lit (a.k.a. "Little" Stockstill).

I wish you the best in your connections and work as well. Hopefully, I will have my own Stockstill line fully connected soon with tombstone pics. Please, let me know if I can assist with anything else on this end (Hancock/Pearl River Counties).

I actually just got back from a weeklong trip to Vinton/Leesville/Sugartown/Oakdale/Gardner, LA areas getting documents and tombstone pics I miss on my previous three trips before so I know how difficult it can be getting to other places of research.

Best Wishes

Pearl River County, MS

RE: Collins Family
William Thomas Collins and John Marion Miles are brothers. I think they moved to Corsicana, TX together around 1880. I have some questions to ask. I like to do research. I have come up with 6 children for Martha Elizabeth Collins. The oldest is John Alfred Brown (1874 - 1963. I would like to communicate via email, if that is OK with you.

Collins Family
Please email me. I would like to have a conversation on James M. Collins and Mourning Hollie Fiveash. I have a lot of information on the family. I have search hard for information in Natchitoches Parish for them. I know where the farm was that was sold to support the children. One of the children is my Great Grandfather John Marion Miles Collins. Please email me at Thanks, Kyle Collins

RE: landrum
I have many Landrums in my database on Ancestry. Diboll, Texas, where many of Elizabeth's children ended up, is located maybe 10-12 miles south of Harmony, where Elizabeth and Elijah ended up. I took several pictures at the Brister Cemetery while there and will upload them soon. There are several others on the this website. There are many Pitts and a smattering of Landrums in the Harmony area cemeteries including Harmony, Zavala and Gravel Ridge. Elizabeth's and Linson's daughter Isabel, who married Phillip Vincent West, is my connection to them on my grandmother's Holliman/West side of the family.

Linson B Landrum
Linson B and Elizabeth Pitts Landrum were my 3rd great grandparents. Elizabeth married my 2nd great grandfather Elijah Shoemake in Angelina County Texas in 1882. She died in the Harmony community, Nacogdoches County, Texas in April 1885. I recently made a trip to Harmony and visited the Brister Cemetery with several of Elizabeth's Pitts descendants. The cemetery is totally overgrown with many headstones dragged into the woods and many others broken or buried. I created memorial 129924775 for Elizabeth based on nothing more than assumption. Family records indicate that her son Ransom M Shoemake was buried in this cemetery in 1894. The cemetery is located about a mile from the old Shoemake homeplace. If you would like to link her Landrum children to this memorial please do so. Chuck

RE: parker
I found no son of Lafayette Parker (son of James B Parker) in my research to date. Though I admit he may have been missed. But my George Parker is not the son of your Lafayette, son of James B Parker. Related yes, but different lineage of same family of John Thomas Parker.

RE: parker
This George Parker was in fact the son of Lafiette Parker (aka Lafayette Parker) however my Lafiette Parkers father was John Thomas Parker and mother was named Isabella.
James B Parker and that you mention was the brother to my Lafiette Parker.
Lafiette (aka Lafayette) Parker was my Great Great Grandfather on my Mother side. Making George "Baldy" Parker my Great Grandfather.
