I'd love to see the generational photo! I've been given the great task of scanning as many family photos as possible and passing them around so that everyone has them. What a cluck I am! I didn't realize that you were Elsie's granddaughter. I just know you loved her like I did mine. I remember taking Aunt Elsie and Gram to see Star Wars. Both of them loved it, both were sort of like, "Looooooord, I never thought I'd see a picture like that." Aunt Elsie, just like my Gram, would come into the middle of some heated discussion and say something adorable like, "Would y'all care for a sandwich?" Everyone cracked up and, of course, discussion was over. My older sister Marlene and my brother Terry got to Arkansas more than either me or my twin Barbara, but I did get to visit and stay the night on my first honeymoon. That's when Elsie told me she thought that Gram was so-o-o-o sophisticated because she smoked. "I tried and I tried," she said, "but I just couldn't get the hang of it." Imagine.
I added the photos back in to Elsie's site. I hope you like them. If you don't, let me know, okay?
You're a dear, Sharon

Thanks for your quick response, Sharon. Apparently you as the poster have to remove the photos before I can post the renewed ones. I suppose some jokester would be taking things off and replacing them with something silly if they didn't have the rule.
My Aunt Marlene has always claimed Cherokee ancestry, but she had Cousin Harold's genealogy chart so that's where she picked up the mistake. And I know what you mean about the time it takes for these photos! I don't even want to think of the hours I've spent, but it makes me crazy to see some of those old beauties marred by crinkles and stains. I didn't totally clean up Aunt Elsie's childhood photo. If you do too much, it looks air-brushed and unnatural. If you want a peek at her big sister's site, it's under Opal Estelle Matcham. Gram was my heart and soul so, of course, I adored sweetie "Miss Elsie" too.

I'm Sharon too. Elsie was my Great Aunt. She was my Grandmother's (Opal Matcham of Peoria, IL) "little baby sister". I downloaded the wonderful photos you posted as I'm involved right now with a great project for my entire family...scanning pictures for everyone to pass on to their children. I do a lot of work with photographs and I "cleaned up" the ones you'd posted, especially sweet Aunt as a little girl, taking out most of the cracks and blotches. I wonder if you'd like to put the new versions up instead? I didn't want to send them as an attachment to an email to your regular account because they'd end up in spam. If you'd like to see them and perhaps remove the first ones and replace them with the fixed up ones, please let me know. I can't remove photos that someone else has posted.
