I am a descendant of the French family that had its roots in a valley that in my youth was named Poor in Tazewell County, Virginia. The valley if located in the western part of Virginia near the town of Saltville. It is the counties of Tazewell, Giles, Smyth, Grayson, and Carroll that carry much interest in my work to learn more about the French and Stoneman family. |
I currently live in Lexington VA in the southern end of the Shenandoah valley where I am now retired.

Hi ..Yeah we run into that all the time. Name on a headstone that isn't there. SO when we run across one , showing with spouse but actually buried somewhere else, we make a memorial and notes and link to both, so to help future generations know what we know. Or just link to spouse that is buried there with missing spouse name as ONE. Just depends on stories and info that might help the next generations know more.
Hi ..I deleted Glen and transferred his wife Reba to you. You are family and am sure you will take good care of.
Thanks for the info . I figured he was still living, reason for just the year on the info I posted , as the headstone has the full birthdate. When I am doing cemetery listing, I post headstones. But as family request removal or anything, I do that.
Well after looking at my tree, I question who George's parents are, so I'm not sure.

Did you contact Find A Grave and ask them to transfer?
So if these are your Asburys, I wonder how you and I are related?
Please delete my last message with my email address. :)
This Asbury family is also my family. I don't have Dorcus listed as a child of George in my family tree so I don't believe I'm the one that made the connection on Find A Grave. I think the owner of her memorial added the parents.

Thank you so much for the photo of the marker for Margaret (Peggy) Brooks Kirk. I appreciate your help and your dedication to those who have gone before us. Pat

You're more than welcome, glad I could help.

Thanks for moving your photo of Cyrus's marker. McKee Cemetery AKA Big Spring is not an annex but a different cemetery. They are next to each other making it confusing. My McKees owned this land and are buried there also.
When I was at the cemetery it was overgrown with weeds and I was worried about the snakes. Do you know if there are other existing Lam markers there? I'll request pix if there are.
