RE: Raymond Burmaster
I found the Hook and Ladder Inscription book. You can contact ktchamberlain@bellsouth.net to purchase. I don't recall how much I paid for it because it was awhile back, but I believe it was around $30.00. I looked to see who was in the Anselme tomb, but the only thing that is listed is F. Anselm and no dates.

Hook & Ladder Cemetery
Hi Dawn, you had contacted me some time ago inquiring about a Hook & Ladder Cemetery Book. I have found one that was published in 2010. The Raymond E. Burmaster buried there is the son of Edward C. Burmaster and Clara Berger Burmaster. Raymond's dates listed are DOB Feb. 16, 1926; DOD Apr. 20, 1986. His brother, Emmett is also buried there, DOB May 3, 1921, DOD Oct. 3, 1995. Just wanted to let you know that it is a different Raymond than the one you were researching. Your Raymond is the son of Emile August Burmaster and Madeline Hurst. That Raymond, Emile and Madeline are in the McDonoghville Cemetery. Hope this helps you in your research. Let me know if I can help further.

RE: Raymond Burmaster
Yes, this is the same family. The dates I entered were from their tombstones. They are in McDonoghville Cemetery, not in Hook and Ladder, though. I also have Delores DOB as 8/14/1913, again taken from their tombstone.
As far as a book goes for Hook and Ladder, I checked into that years ago and was told that most of the early records were destroyed in a fire. I'm not aware of a book that has been put together by anyone for that cemetery. A lot of the tombstones cannot be read as they are so old and many tombs no longer have headstones. McDonoghville Cemetery on the other hand has been better taken care of since it's inception, but I don't know of any books that have been published for that one either. The only cemetery books I know of for that part of town are for the Algiers Cemeteries.
It's very possible that the tombs have wrong dates; I've seen it happen before.

Raymond Burmaster
Neither of the Raymond Burmasters I entered are listed with the middle name of Emile, so yours might be a different person. Do you know who the spouse of your Raymond Emile Burmaster is? Are the dates of my entries close to the dates of your sister-in-laws relative, or are the dates completely different? Without this information it would be hard to determine if my entries are related to your sister-in-law. If you could provide the information, I can look in my files to see if it matches to the people I have entered. I would be more than happy to do that for you. Also, I don't know which of my Raymond E. Burmasters you are questioning, so birth/death dates would help. Thanks
