I was born and raised in the Coal Fields of Logan County, West Virginia and have always been interested in my heritage. |
I was the type of kid that would sit for hours on end listening to old stories told by my family.
Now that I'm older and raising a family of my own, I realize the importance of writing down and sharing information with others in the hopes that the legacy will be carried to all the generations to come.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like me to do research for you or to send me updated information on the research I've already completed.
I strive for 100% accuracy in the data I post but I am human and will make mistakes along the way. Please let me know of any errors you find a.s.a.p.
I had 2 great grandfathers who fought in the Battle of Blair Mountain so I can honestly say, I'm a redneck and proud of it!"
The mis-interpretation of the actual meaning of the term "redneck" has been lost to the younger generations and is now classified as a racial slur.
This is just one of many examples on why I have become so passionate in educating and preserving our history.
Happy Trails and God Speed!

Does anyone here know of Adaline Nichols Fry?, 4th daughter of Ephriam and Manerva Nichols, wife of Marshall Fry, mother of, John, Elmer,Joe, Nessel, and Arthur Fry. She passed in 1919 of that horrible flu, and her last address was Isom. She is buried in the Epling cemetery.
thank you sincerely

Kelly, I am not closely related to Henry and Martha Bryson Adkins. There may be some kinship and if so it would be very distant. I likely will be getting back to you on this within a few days after I complete some more research.
|Russell E Bennett Jr||RE: Bryson Cemetery|
There is a map attached to the Bryson Cemetery page. The Bryson Cemetery is nearly a forgotten cemetery in the woods on private property. You should seek permission from the landowner as there is cattle (and a mean bull) in the fields that you will need to cross. After looking at the map if you still have questions please ask. Tip: Coming off of Pluto Road and turning onto Maple View Lane the landowner lives in the first house on the right. His name is Jerry Bennett. Question for you: Are you related to Henry Parker Adkins?

|calicomist||Baldwin Cemetery at Isom|
The Baldwin Cemetery at Isom is in memory of my great uncles Charley French Baldwin. He was postmaster at Madison, Boone County. He isn't buried in the cemetery. I think the other person the graveyard is dedicated to is William Baldwin, my great grandfather. Isom was his farm.
Thank you for posting these pictures. :)
