My fascination with cemeteries began when I was on active duty in the United States Army. I'm a trumpet player and served as an Army Bandsman for twenty years. During that time I performed Taps at military funerals on more occasions than I can remember. |
While waiting for the funeral procession to arrive I would spend as much time as possible walking through the cemetery reading tombstones. It proved to be a very interesting way to pass the time. Now that I'm a member of the Find A Grave community I can put that interest to good use.
I've either created or manage all memorials for my immediate family, so my focus at this point is creating memorials for others and fulfilling as many local photo requests as possible.

You are more than welcome! You had a connection to him. That makes it all more meaningful!

I appreciate your thank you. Wanted to let you know that buried next to him is Elsa Boyce (1912-1972). I will go ahead and create a memorial for her. Do you think she is John's mother??
Thank you so much for your time and effort. God bless you. Susie

|Katray||Salem Cemetery in Coffee County|
You have placed The Grace Place Church photo as a photo to for Salem Cemetery, which has nothing to do with the cemetery. The Church was built far after the cemetery and is no way connected to the cemetery. It is very misleading and can be confusing for some. Leave it for a fairly new contributor to do this, especially one that is in it for the numbers.

No, It is so weird we have the same name. My brother also married a lady named Kathy so she became Kathy Gatlin also. I have been searching all of the Gatlin's I come across to see if their is a connection. I can only get to my Great Grandfather Louis H. Gatlin. I'm sure some how we connect just havent found how.
Thanks for letting know about the error. It has been corrected.

|DANIEL H. WILLIAMS||HILLCREST CEMETERY, ELBA, COFFEE CO., ALA.|
Hello Mr. Blackstock,
I have been told by my neice, her father Warren George Williams is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Elba, Coffee Co., Ala.
I am not sure of his birth, he died in April 1975.
Is there a way his tomb can be found and entered into Find A Grave.
I have a couple of pictures to add to the site.
If this is not within your range, perhaps someone is closer that could assist.
Daniel H. Williams
