Berber de Jong
Paul, thanks so very much for your help. Using all the info you gave me, I did a bunch of hunting in online records. The Vellemas did change their name to Fellmer. I found out that my ancestor, Tjamme "James" Wiegers Valk, husband of my Berber DeJong, was the informant on Geertje de Jong Vellema/Fellmer's death certificate, thereby providing evidence that Berber Tjeerds de Jong and my Berber DeJong (whom we had incorrectly as Berber Sjoerds DeJong, thanks to misinformation on her own death certificate) were one and the same.

You can see Geertje's death certificate here: http://seekingmichigan.contentdm.oclc.org/cdm/singleitem/collection/p129401coll7/id/375192/rec/1

Gratefully,

Miriam Robbins

Wow, Paul, I am completely blown away. I'm still re-reading and absorbing your information to compare and analyze it. One small correction, my Berber DeJong married Tjammes (not Gerrit) Valk.

I will be contacting you via email.

Thank you, thank you, for all the work you have done on this!

Thank you, Paul. This is information someone added to WeRelate from information I had posted about her on the internet. I still have not found solid evidence that this woman is my ancestor, although I'm fairly sure she is.

I've listed my hypothesis and research plan here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D_o9vRJjGPOJJAXTcxlsmXrCGyuKgleoIfntPzwndig/edit?usp=sharing

Thank you for taking the time to comment. It is much appreciated!

Sincerely,
Miriam

RE: Hessel D Weidenaar
I have just received an email from findagrave that they have done the unmerge I requested. Please double check to be sure your Hessel is ok.

Thanks.

RE:
Can you unmerge the spouse, Hessel Weidenaar Find A Grave Memorial# 48860700, from Minnie B Biel Weidenaar Memorial# 77615849? This Hessel was not her spouse. Minnie B Biel Weidenaar Memorial# 77615849 was married to Hessel D Weidenaar Find A Grave Memorial# 96385752.

I have been on contact with paulsnip, who agrees with this correction.

RE: Hessel D Weidenaar
I have made the corrections as requested, but I do not know how to unmerge the wrong Hessel. If you know how to make the unmerge, please let me know. I would not wish to delete the memorial, as that would take away the original addition recognized by Queen Graver.

So, I have put in the following request to edit@findagrave.com, and will watch for the unmerge request granted:

Re: Minnie B Biel Weidenaar Memorial# 77615849

RE: Hessel D Weidenaar
Hessel Weidenaar
Find A Grave Memorial# 48860700

My appologies. I have corrected the middle initial of Hessel Weidenaar to take the D off. Tryntje Dykstra Weidenaar is my great-great grandmother and did marry Hessel Weidenaar, son of Rienk and Antje who is burried at Beverly Cemetery. I have not yet taken a photo of this marker, but have confirmed with the cemetery that his is there.

Would you are willing to add Hessel D. Weidenaar to findagrave and correct your link to werelate.org?
