Does John's death notice mention a church, where his mass would have been?

RE: John Shannon

I really didn't think the two Shannon's at Calvary would lead us anywhere, so we went today to check it out. In lot 215, there were three Shannons, John, Catherine, and Patrick. All three already have photos. This John died July 6, 1955. His memorial was just posted this year by another volunteer who is helping the same photographer I help. So yours is a duplicate since you didn't have dates.

The Shannons buried in lot 76 were James and Mary, also with photos already posted.

Let me check with our resident church record specialist to see if she has any suggestions for us. She should be there Wednesday.

Had a very nice chat with the cemetery office. It happens once in a while when they aren't swamped. I spoke with Cathy, the head person, and he is not buried there. Assuming because he was Irish, he was Catholic, Cathy pointed out that Chartiers didn't accept Catholic burials at that time. They do now, but that's not helping us.

I spoke to the funeral director who handled the VonHofens to see if they might have handled John, but records before 1936 were lost in a flood.

So how about his parents? They would have been Catholic, so he might be with them. Do you know where they are buried?

I didn't realize you were out of country. Give me a little time to check with the office to see if they have any info for John.

Finally was able to access their death certificates. I see by his that he was moved to Pittsburgh for burial.

Both certificates were signed by "Von Hofen". Don't see the relationship, but they are next to Margaret at Chartiers.

I would suggest contacting the office for more help. He could be buried there, but doesn't have a marker. His date of death in Conneaut was August 26, 1932.

RE: Margaret Moles Shannon
There were no other Shannon's around Margaret. The plot grid for her location shows the grave as a single.

Do you have a date of death for John?
