Clues to the past

I received your transfer request but I would prefer not to transfer as I believe he is my 3rd great uncle. His brother Thomas is my 3rd great grandfather. I will be glad to add any information you would like added and I will make any links we can prove. I have an article from the Gettysburg Times in 1942 about this cemetery if you haven't seen it and would like a copy I would be glad to send it to you.

RE: Martha Lane Cunard Clare Fitz
Hi Maryanne, that was my first visit to Green cemetery. I really hate to tell you this, but this cemetery was a DISASTER. I don't think it's been taken care of in years. It was VERY sad. The Clares are in a row with 2 Hendricksons. I didn't see a Robert or Elizabeth (your other requests) but there was what looked like a 2 grave gap in the line so maybe they didn't have stones. As for Martha, it was very hard to read, but yes, there were dates. Feb 25, 18?? and May 27, 1904. I see you have June 3, 1904 on her memorial. One must be wrong... most likely the stone... you might want to look into that. I'll post another picture of the line of Clares to Martha's memorial for you. In the picture is (from bottom left) Unknown, Catherine, Joseph, Martha, 2 Hendrickson (sorry, I didn't write down the names), then 2 blank spots, and in the upper right of the picture, is William Clare (with the US flag). Let me know if there is anything one else I can help you find!

Maryanne:
Please log in to Find A Grave and resubmit your transfer requests through the Correction Requests. It makes it a lot easier for me that way.
Best regards,
margaret

thank you
Thanks very much for the baptismal record for John Barger - your kindness is appreciated.

Because of the commonness of his name, I am not yet sure it is for this man... I cited censuses on which I found him, but was unsure if it were him in all cases, and one of those cases was where he had the middle initial which matches the one in the baptismal record you found. Not positive it is him, but hope to clarify in time, and thank you for your sharp eye.

RE: Isabelle and William Tyler
You are welcome. BTW, we are possibly "shirt-tail" cousins. Charles Tyler, son of Isabelle and William was married to Nettie Sharp, daughter of Samuel C Sharp who was a brother to my great, great grandmother, Lorena E Sharp Saul.

Also, don't know if you know this, the marriage between William and Isabelle was the first marriage in Newfield. I have a pdf of a Newfield History pamphlet from 1891. If you would like a copy of this, please send me an email address.

Best,

Deborah Cornatzer

The slab in the mausoleum gave 1972 as her year of death.

Anna Clare
It's possible that Anna's name is on the stone that is toppled there, it's just hard to tell

Anna Clare
I took a picture of where Anna Clare is located with the family plot. Unfortunately there is no visible headstone for her in B173. Sorry

RE: Gimbel Burials at All Saints
Maryanne, my records indicate that there are quite a number of Gimbels and Horts buried here; still working on an exact count. I'll be glad to keep you updated as I discover the information.

We are, literally, a church yard. No specific signage for the cemetery, just a corner of the back yard here.
