RE: Joseph Pawling
Okay - great. I'll work on seeing how one goes about correcting a mistaken record at the D.A.R. on a Patriot. I'll contact you privately about any copies of good records you may already have. The headstone will help. Findagrave won't meet their standards, as you would probably guess. It's great as a resource. Still need the hard-core recs. My Chapter meets in a few days and we'll discuss the need and process for a D.A.R. marker at his grave and see what we can do about it. Thanks for writing me back.

Joseph Pawling
Hi - just wonder if you could help clarify the information for Joseph Pawling, no. 102097334. The Joseph Pawling with that birth and death date is a verified D.A.R. patriot, but D.A.R. records show that he died in Westmoreland County and served with the Philadelphia Co. Militia. How did his body end up in Snyder County? Something isn't quite right. Also - he couldn't have a son born before he was. In my capacity as the Regent of the Conrad Weiser Chapter of the D.A.R., based in Selinsgrove, Snyder COunty, I had a person inquire about obtaining a D.A.R. Patriot marker for this fellow in Snyder County, but I'm not convinced this is correct information. Any light you have to shed on it will be appreciated.

Re: Noble memorials
My only connection is distant marital ancestors, but I do what I can to make all of the rural cemeteries available for others researching from afar. Any that you want to 'claim' is fine with me. =)
