RE: Thanks!
You are welcome! There are 2X as many graves besides the marked/named ones, but they are just marked with a mountain stone, not knowing who is buried there.

RE: Moses Cornwell (#41866902)
I'm not sure why that person felt the need to add info about the marker. Old Town Burying Ground no longer exists. All information came from lists which were made at the time of it's existence. So, apparently there used to be a marker with information regarding his age at time of death.

The graveyard was turned into a park sometime in the later part of the 1800s. (Not sure now about the year.) Families that still existed in the area were allowed to remove their loved ones, and/or markers. Many were relocated to Greenfield in Uniondale (Hempstead).

As I read it, the remaining markers were turned over and covered with dirt as the ground was prepared for the park. Sounds shocking to us now but this seems to have been a practice in New York City during that time period. Many of the NYC parks were former cemeteries.

Please Google it for further information about Old Town. Good luck with your research.
Cheers,
Peggy

RE: How are you related to Arthur Bedell?
Madelene (not Madeline) Crasto Bedell was my maternal grandmother. I would be happy to share a photo of her. I also have some photos of Arthur, but none of Warren.

How are you related to Arthur Bedell?
I am Arthur Bedell's granddaughter. How are you related? Do you have a photo of the Crastos?

Iveys
Hi Jason,

I saw that you uploaded some of the photos of the Iveys from our site on ancestry.com. Nice to see them here and connected to the graves, but I'd be grateful if you credited them since they are from my grandmother's photo albums and if someone is interested or connected or has other photos or info, I would love to know about it and for them to get in touch with me.

Thanks,
Cristle Collins Judd

RE: Jacob Wesner #45792776
Jason,
Yes, I should have seen the date differences...I'm learning.

Jacob Wesner's stone has 4 sides.
On the right side of Jacob's info is:
Hannah
wife of
J. Wesner
died
Feb 10, 1888
aged
48 yr 11m. & 29d.

On the left side of Jacob's info is:
Malissa Wesner
died
Mar 31, 1866
aged
29 Yrs. 3M. 16D.

ALSO, on a seperate stone to the left of Jacob Wesner's stone is:

Malissa Ann
wife of
Jacob Wesner
died
Mar. 31, 1866
aged
28 Yrs. 3M. 16D.

Please advise if you want me to send you the images or what to do. Thanks!

RE: Thank You!
Hi Jason. I'm not really sure about the two headstones. The military headstone is behind the larger headstone. I always thought they were just to show that they were in the military, but that he is buried with his wife, not sure though. Maybe someone else on Find A Grave knows the answer.

The information was either from her death certificate or her obituary or both.

RE: Photo Request
Jason -
I failed to mention that we found another Ivey buried next to Emmett. He was Edward Ivey so we got his photo also. You may have seen it, but in case you hadn't, I just wanted to pass this on to you.
Regards,
Olin
