I have been working on researching my own ancestry for many years, and have recently begun to visit local cemeteries. Although my ancestors are not from the area where I live, I am interested in helping others find theirs. I enjoy taking photos of headstones, and adding names to cemeteries that are not already there.

My headstone/gravemarker photos do not always come out as clearly as I would want, so if you have one to upload that is better, please do so and let me know so I can delete my photo.

Please feel free to use my headstone/gravesite pictures and information for your own research.

I am following the Player, Hansen, McManigal, Slaughter, Turner, Ward & Bowdish bloodlines, and may be contacting some of you for access to management of memorials directly related to me.

First of all, thank you for so graciously granting advance permission to use your photographs. Credit will be given such as "Courtesy of Jan Player Grant, contributor, Find A Grave Memorial # ? ? ?" if that is agreeable.

I am currently compiling in hard copy the Cheadle family history of which the above was married descendant (4th great granddaughterof the progenitor, George Cheadle). My mother-in-law was a Cheadle. I am not requesting transfer of any memorials.

My treatise is in no way a profit making project and will not (by my request) be posted on the internet nor will living individuals be included to the best of my ability.

You have no idea how much we who are of an age (I'm 84) or distance and cannot traipse through cemeteries as we once did appreciate the effort and passion of you who contribute to Find A Grave. Many thanks from an old lady.

arvine bowdish... texas valley
Just saw your request for arvine bowdish in texas valley. I will try to get over there within the next couple days and find it.
out of curiosity... are you familiar with the name hannah bowdish? She has a headstone on a private burial plot in texas valley. She was married to a gardner (my relation). I'm just beginning to delve into the gardner line but there was extensive research done previously. Now i just need to get it into a computer. I can get you a pick of the headstone if you want.

Eddings Family at Old Vancouver Cemetery
Hello,

I was very excited to find my ancestors in your Find-a-grave.com postings from Old Vancouver City Cemetery. As I live in the Southeast, I very likely would never have seen their headstones if you had not taken the time to add them in - thank you!!

If you are not connected to the family, would you consider transferring management of them to me? If not, no worries, and I can send some additional information for their records. The files are:

Edward Eddings (#99452513)
George Eddings (#99452516)

Best Regards,
Shannon Zuzek (#48096810)

Melissa J Grant
Do you know if Melissa J Grant was known as "Jennie", which may be her middle name.

I found a tombstone with "Jennie Grant" and with the same years of birth and death as Melissa J Grant (1858-1918). Jennie is buried next to Nappy McCoy Grant. Dallas Cemetery records show both Jennie and Melissa J, same dates, but only Jennie has a plot location and a tombstone.

That Jennie is buried next to Nappy McCoy Grant would imply husband and wife given the tombstone dates. It could also be a sister or sister in law. There is space to the right (south) of Jennie's headstone for one or two graves.

I have taken photos from Right to Left (North to South) of the tombstones of: Letta A. child of "N.M.&CARRIE GRANT", Carrie, Ralph B, Nappy McCoy, and Jennie.

Given that the tombstone of the Leeta A. reads daughter of "N.M.", who else is "N.M." but Nappy McCoy? But wasn't he married to Melissa J or is it Jennie. Was he married to both Carrie and Melissa/Jennie with a divorce somewhere? This is confusing. :-)
