Bio and Links
Bio Photo LEAR, GELLOCK, MILLER, and FOOSE are the main surnames in my family tree.

The original German spellings were:

These are the maiden names which stem from each:
(Any names is parenthesis are the original spelling of that name it follows.)

LEAR: Margeson, Paddock, Clawson, Tappin, Gilmore (Kilmer), Gray, Wildonger, Maust, Gruver/Groover (Kruger), Long (Lang), Scholl, Deer, Mumbauer, and Schumacher

GELLOCK: Gellock [A Gellock married a Gellock], Walter, Walter [A Walter married a Walter], Yeager, Kocher, Messinger, Abel, Stoneback (Steinbach), Lee, Eckert, Keiter, Lott, Laycock, Belles, Buss, Ritter, Kuriss, Kahler, Werkheiser, Messinger (another), and Diehl

MILLER: Kohler, Riey, Mosel, Troxell, Rinker, Ealer, Dietz, Cramer, Newhart (Newhard), Traill, Rasley, Heller, Grotz, Luy, Schneider, and Schinhoven.

FOOSE: Altemus, Rinker, Smith, Heater, Furry, Leibengood (Leibenguth)/ Ackerman [not sure of an adoption/birth name], Bartholomew, Reimer, Frey, Kolb, Litgar, Bopp [changed to Pope], Lauer, Mauny, Hilliard (Hilgert), Reimel, Smith (Schmidt), Smith (Schmidt) [a Smith married a Smith], Miller (Mueller), Frantz, Sterner, Odenwelder, Rent(s), and Schuch

As I continue my research, I am adding more maiden names, but haven't necessarily researched them all thoroughly yet.

The majority of my family base is in PA, with many NJ extensions. My four main surnames all trace back to Germany, as well as many of the maiden names in my direct lines.

My paternal grandparents, John N. and Clara E. Gellock Lear were both Native American descendants.

JOHN NELSON LEAR: Family history states my grandfather's grandmother, Margaret M. Margeson (nee Clawson) was half Native American. Oral history passed down states that we have an Indian princess in the family tree. I believe this may have been referring to my gr8 x3 paternal grandmother, Catharine Tappin Clawson, who was Margaret's mother.

My father's first cousin told me that his mother (my grandfather's sister) told him that we have Indian blood in us. He also stated that his late mother and two brothers had Indian features.

CLARA ELIZABETH GELLOCK LEAR: Family history on my grandmother's side (Gellock) states we have Indian blood in us, but no one knows exactly who it comes from.

I have requested many memorials from inactive accounts. I greatly appreciate the time and effort they took to list my ancestors. It is truly an honor for me to carry on the torch and resume their management.

SPECIAL THANKS go out to all the find-a-grave contributors who have listed my ancestors and upon my request have transferred them to me, and to those who will grant future requests. I am ever so grateful for the time and effort you all have taken to create the memorials of my ancestors and how your listings have helped me connect many dots.

Not every single memorial I've listed is a blood relative. During the course of researching plots, I've come across some of the parents, siblings, etc., of the spouses of my ancestors, or other non-relatives who were buried with them, so I have listed them also in the hope of helping others in their genealogical search. However, my main agenda is to list my ancestors, not the ancestors of their spouses.

Please do send a request, via the edit tab, if you are interested in managing any of my memorials.

I will likely transfer memorials which are not in my direct line if they are in yours. Please check the memorial to see if their is a notation of them being in my direct line. You can also check my direct line virtual cemeteries for the surname of interest. If you don't see the memorial you are interested in managing listed there or noted as a direct relative, please submit your request (via the edit tab) and state your relationship.

Also if you have an interest in managing an ancestor of yours, who is not in your direct line, and who isn't in my direct line, please do submit a request (via the edit tab), I most likely will transfer it to you.

My children's paternal grandparents:

These are the four main surnames and the maiden names which stem from each:

THORPE: Markle, Gregory, Watkins, Brown, and Cunningham

WELCH: Plank (?)

GUNDERMAN: Benning, Beam, Anderson, Cole, and Shannon

I will add more maiden names as I discover them.

One of my granddaughter's paternal side.

BLACKWELL: Teabout, stackhouse, and Trueblood

My oldest grandson's paternal side.

HELMS: Morris

Many interesting facets of my ancestor's lives have been uncovered and intrigue further inspires me.

Fronicke Photo Requests
We fulfilled two of the three photo requests for the Fronicke family. Charles Fronicke is on the back side of the stone and will either be an early morning photo or summer photo to have sunlight on it to be readable.

Maintaining Alice
Hi there, I'm going out on a limb here, I just recently found out Alice De Alto was married to my Grandfather, Harry Hammerstone, and your name on here is Harry's daughter. I'm kind of curious to as you are linked to my grandfather. If you could get back to me it would be awesome. Thanks!

RE: Marjorie Rinker
Thank you for updating her memorial. I would not have minded if you had managed her memorial as I know we both want accurate memorials and you are very wonderful to work with on our Rinker family.

RE: Mary Ann Wiggins Heater Reeves
We added the Heater photos today from Phillipsburg Cemetery you requested. Mary Ann's name is listed as Mary Ann Heater and Reese is not listed on the Heater stone. I will be happy to add any information about her second husband you have but I am leaving her last name as Heater per the stone.

Mary Ann Wiggins Heater Reeves
Hi, I received your message and edits regarding Mary. I listed her name from the Phillipsburg Cemetery records which lists Heater.Records indicate she has a gravestone so I will check on what name is on her stone. If it lists Heater, I leave the memorial that way to avoid confusion. I did add your information and note the Reeves name in her Bio section.

William T Randall
Hi! Thank you for creating a record for William T Randall! He would have been my great-great uncle; my g-g grandfather was his brother, George Lomason Randall. I noted that you had linked him to Garner Hugh Randall, who might indeed have been a Randall relative. But, George and William T's father (and my g-g-g grandfather) was Hugh Y. Randall, born in 1816, according to our family bible, which begins with Hugh Y's birth record (I think the bible was given to Hugh Y and Catherine Jane Lomason/Lomerson as a wedding gift in 1838, and they entered their own births as the start of the record-keeping. The births and marriages of all their children are recorded, including George and William T.)

One more daughter
I think there's probably one more daughter for Ludwig and Catharine Grube Smith. You have listed Benjamin, Jacob and Lussetta as their children. My 4x great grandmother, Sarah M. Smith, 1841-1895 was listed in her husband's obituary as being the daughter of Ludwig and Catharine. Her husband is James R. Aten, 1836-1897. I'm happy to send you a copy of the obituary if you'd like.

Thank you!

Jeremiah Lott
If Jeremiah Lott is your 5X greatgrandfather, then you are related to my sister-in-law, Linda Smith McAdoo. Jeremiah is also her 5X greatgrandfather. She descends from Jeremiah through Lavinia Lott, Charlotte Skelly, Margaret E. Clark, Parlumia Reich, Paul Reich Stecker, and Ruth Elizabeth Stecker. I would be happy to share information. Regards,
