I have a strong interest in history and genealogy. I have been working on my family tree for a few years now. Initially, I didn't think I would get very far because my Mother's maiden name was Smith and my Father's surname was Johnson. But, once I got started, and with the help of the internet, I found it wasn't that difficult. Of course, I have hit brick walls, but it is very satisfying when I break through one.|
I have had my DNA tested through 23andme as well as with ancestry.com. That has helped me to break through some brick walls.
I have found out that I am descended from at least two American Revolutionary Patriots and probably more. I am a member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution Family names are : Adams, Arnold, Baze, Baird, Beard, Blevins, Brewer, Coffman, Crane, Davis, Dennis, Dunlap, Eakin, Faver, Favor, Favors, Ellis, Emory, Emery, Frisby, Frisbee,Fleming, Gordon, Griffin, Griswold, Harris, Holland, Johnson, Jennings, Jump, King, Kirkland, Knight, Laugherty, Logan, McGill, Meek, Parker, Paschall, Perry, Perryman, Perriman, Sears, Schultz, Simpson, Smith, Sterrett, Stone, Waters, Walton, Welch, Wilkerson, Wright

The City of Fort Smith is the caretaker of any records of this cemetery. It was a neglected overgrown cemetery until about 10 years ago. Even though it is known for it's African American burials, there are several other ethnic burials there. I did a complete photographic survey of this cemetery. It has been severely vandalized over the years with several broken & unreadable memorials present. If you have an obituary stating she was buried in this cemetery from the time period, she is most likely buried there & you might have the only record of it available.

Helen, No I absoultley will not delete my memorial for James Alford Meek. I can hardly believe you ask me to do such a thing when you can clearly see all the time and effort that myself and other Find-A-Gravers have contributed to finally get him connected to his wife and children. For your inconsiderate suggestion I am not ok with doing the transfer of his memorial to you as of now like I sugguested doing in the beginning. I would certianally want to retain all editing rights and will add any additional imformation you would like to see on his memorial. Lets keep the family together like should be. I know my nice sister-in-law would not be happy to hear about this after all James Alford Meek is also her gr.grandfather/grandmother and her mother's father and all her aunts too and she entrusted me to manage his memorial providing me with all her helpful imformation. Hope you can understand but I wont delete his memorial. Tina Walker-Reser

Thank you very much Helen Johnson Reisinger, I have even forgotten how I arrived at what I have for him. I will go try change it. He is my sister-in-law gr. grandfather. You have really put a lot of effort in seeing to it that all is correct, I been-there-done-that on some my own family. I would trust you to manage his memorial if you would like I can try transfer it to you to manage, be really nice if he were in the care of some his direct family, as I am just an "in-law" by marriage but I try do all my memorials as correctly as possiable, thank you n God Bless, Tina Walker-Reser -Oklahoma P.S. I think we have met via ancestryDNA.
