|Robert C. Peurifoy||RE: Hancock graves|
Jane, thank you for your kind offer. Most of the people I photographed at the Norwood Cemetery are my Mother's family, the Staton's. My Grandmother was a Moore. The only other I think was the Avett family. My wife was friends of their son in Murphy and they actually published our wedding program 34 years ago.
I'm going to try the new photo uploading of photo's with GPS. Susan Gillis has also begun doing parts of Carolina Park. We've been coordinating our efforts by sections. I may be there either Tuesday, weather permitting, or the 23rd. Have one section which I've done one end of, but not the other. I just finished most of the Fountain section. Have three more smaller sections on an older computer. Just need to transfer them to my new faster computer.
The new photo edit you can go ahead an upload from a smart phone and then have 10 days to transcribe and then turned over for others to complete.
It's just the research that takes time. I send out as many request for changes as you do. I do more than just add names and dates.
Thank you for your efforts.

You are most welcome. Glad I could help.
I don't live near there, but was visiting my son who goes to church there & took as many photos as I could.

Thanks for the edits. Wish I had spent more time in researching the family. My GGgrandmother was a Handcock. Family myth was that we were descendants of John Hancock of the Declaration of Independence. Of course, since he had no children......Maybe a brother!
Anyway, I may get around to it some day. None of my Staton relatives are interested in the family history and now with my Mom gone the drive just isn't there.

So right....1 things leads to another and another. It's like the Energizer Bunny...keeps going and going-lol. Ronnie did give me some of my blood relatives to maintain. If you need something just let me know.
Goodness gracious cousin - you are REALLY busy today - LOL Have a good one.

I have been searching and found Oakview & Eastside. Oakview has 17 burials and Eastside has 14. I found some African-Americans from Badin who served in WW1, some receiving medals, but no burial place listed for them. I did find mention of a Scarbrough cemetery in Badin but have not found it. Hopefully I can find their resting place so they can be found by their families.

Thank you Jane. I wondered about that when I posted it. Also, I having been trying to find out where African-Americans are buried when burial place is listed as Badin. Would you have any idea?

You are so welcome! Glad I could help solve the mystery of McBee/Burlington! She was the only burial in this spacious plot nearly 45 years ago. I thought this odd, particularly in light of the beautiful upright family monument and the 45 years passing with no other burials here.
